St. Petersburg, Russia

Lex's Pov:

I slipped my suppressed pistol back into my Kydex hip holster, looking at the assassin laying dead on the ground. If what Alexi said was true about  Russia, US and Saudi Arabia being the three biggest countries in the arms trade. I hada very terrible feeling that I was up against more then the Resistance here. Something was nagging at me about the two assassins onThe motorbike.

How did these assassins know that I would meet my asset here?

I thought

I needed to find out more about these assassins, and who had dispatched them to kill my asset. My from experience in training I knew that assassins never carried id on them, so it was no use searching them. But just maybe I find out where the motorbike had come from? That could be a start for now. There was no doubt in mind that MP7 submachine gun serial number was probably scratched off, so it couldn't be traced back to who ordered these assassins to kill Alexi.

One thing I knew for sure that was the SVR ( Foreign Intelligence service) had disbanded assassination butthen again that was not true after all we did stop theassassination unit codename Rasputin from terminating President Roberts in Berlin. As far as I was concernedThe GRU (Russian Military intelligence) was behind the operation itself.

I to wondered if this Resistance was a faction of the White knights under a leader, I saw the look on Nidika face. It looked serious there was no doubt it about it. There were still some questions I needed answered to ? My instincts were telling me that Alexi hadn't told me everything, only half truth, which made  me wonder what she was afraid of and why.

The first time I had recruited Alexi, as my asset from The FSB ( Russian Federal security Bureau ) knowing that she looked a bit nervous, I assured that I would protect her. It brought memories of being trained at the Farm, and what we agents had to go through to become a handler for the CIA or assassin. I remember what he told me after I finished at training there.

"Lex, once your out in the field it's all up to survive, there's no easy about. Just remember use your instincts.once you convince your asset from SVR or FSB or even the GRU. You have to be careful. One false move and they have you," The CIA trainer said in a harsh cold tone.

Yes I had killed the assassins that had killed my asset, but what at cost. Honestly the last time I saw  David was before I left to get trained at the Farm. Walking back to the truck that I rented, grabbed the door as I climbed in and closed the door behind me.

Whoever had given David that redacted classified intel to use in his books had gotten him killed.

I thought

The only thing I knew was that this arms dealer was behind the Resistance and that before he had worked for Russia, US and Saudi Arabia selling weapons. Most importantly he had ordered the free-lance assassin Grey to terminate my brother. I hadn't finished reading David's first book yet but I remembered whatDirector had told me about David that he had used classified redacted intel  for his book .

As I drove down the narrow streets passing by some old Russian imperial buildings, glancing out the window. I knew what I had to do, as an operative for the CIA. Yes, I crossed over into the blackness that made me lethal. But I had to better then the terrorists or The Resistance that I was hunting.

I kept thinking back to the shooting range and the assassin I had killed. From whar  I read on Aitken Carter he had been mercenary for the CIA. Something was right, I knew, and it kept nagging at me like string out of place? Maybe the string would lead to the Resistance or their free-lance assassin?
