We were attacked by those Bawalai during the mid-summer. They were foreigners; outsiders. They believed that they could take what they want, with no repercussions.
We needed the jungles to protect us from the coming winter.
The Bawalai wanted the jungles intact, for their cultivation of our resources. For our spices.
They attacked.
But it was my people, the Korrunai, that attacked first.
We were called to aid in the fight to preserve our land from the outsiders.
I could not go back. Duty to the Herd demanded it. My duty to my family, but nothing was more important than the Herd.
I could not go back.
The last thing I saw were great beams that poured from their hands.
And then I did.
And I could see everything.
The blast from their hands soon fell from the skies.
They called it the Summertime Wars.
Then something happened, which I could not have imagined in years.
He had returned.
He had returned to fight.
My heart leapt for joy.
