The huge man stood to attention until the boom of the imperial ship shook the station below...but not his bridge; the walkway had been reinforced with the strongest mixture of carbon steel and plasteel; only for his closest officers...and for his comfort.

Releasing his crossed arms as the whine of the ship began to decrease; the ship boomed once more, leaving the ethereal blue tunnels that accompanied the hyperspace jumps until he found himself outside a familiar planet; huge in size and filled with an array of lights that formed across the surface; stars upon the planet. The man in the cloaked robes took heavy steps along the platform, the noise-making metallic claps, causing the nearest officer to straighten to attention; his heart leaping around his chest, at the sight of his form, towering at 6"2, his skeletal mask shimmering against the overhead lights; the gassy clicks of what sounded like air canisters filling, and an exhale like a gas mask in poison smoke. The towering man continued towards the platform leading towards the lower walkway.

"Commander; prepare my shuttle."

"At once, my Lord."

A sharp clatter filled the air, stopping the black-cloaked man in his tracks, as he turned towards the sound; a tiny silver disk lay on the floor, which resembles a compact comm unit, which bleeped, igniting a blue hologram; a still picture of a woman smiling, and a girl, her grin so wide, it revealed her array of gap teeth.

The officer chest rose and fell sharply, his gloved hands tingling as he felt the slick of sweat between his palms and fingers. The towering man raised his hand, and the compact comms unit flew into his hands.

"What is this Commander?"

The Commander gulped. "A-a c-comms unit..."

"Who are these people?" The tone of the man's voice resonated deeply, the commander felt his hairs flutter.

"My wife and daughter, my Lord!"

The figure breathed in; sounds like air filtering through canisters sounded once more, and then he released a puffy exhale. The Commander raised his eyebrow; the Lord had not moved an inch; his lenses fixed on the hologram, exposing an amber tint behind.

"Your daughter; what is her name?"

The Commander gulped. "Her name is...Padmé"

The comms unit fell from the figure's hand, which clattered onto the floor; his gloved hand outstretched the fingers tented in a claw-like fashion. The Commander wondered what he was doing, and opened his mouth, unable to get his word out, the lines of his neck growing sore; a line of trapped air between his throat.

The last thing he saw going black, were the amber tint in the lenses, a casting shadow swooping over his face; the tint now as black as the vastness of space.

The last thing he heard, aside from the air canisters rising, and the puffy exhalation, was a whisper, so low that his skin trembled until he was no more.

"There can only be one."
