*A few weeks later*
I pull out my phone from my pocket to change the song that was playing through my earphones. I skip through a few songs within my playlist before I land on the one that I wanted. I smile before I begin lipsyncing the lyrics as I walk towards the cafe. As I approach the cafe, I spot a familiar figure.
"Jeez Taron, you're here before me for once" I chuckle, as I press pause on my music. He chuckles in return, running his hands in the pockets of his tight blue jeans. "Well yeah, I had an important question to ask you, but I didn't know what time your shift was". I push the door open and he follows me inside. "Well my shift doesn't start for another 20 minutes so why don't you take a seat and I'll bring you some coffee? Then you can ask me?" I say as I smile at the regular customers who I all know by name now, and point to a seat close to us. He nods his head and I make my way behind the counter, placing my apron over my body and brewing a pot of coffee.
I bring the pot of coffee and 2 mugs over to his table and sit down. "Right, whats up?" I ask and he takes a breath. "There's this wedding." He starts. "It's two of my close friends who are getting married on Saturday and they have given me an invite with a plus one... and I was wondering" he pauses. I know where this is heading but I let him finish. He pushes his round glasses up his nose and then looks into my eyes as he continues his sentence. "I was wondering if you would be my plus one - my date" he corrects himself. Those words instantly make me smile. I didn't think I knew the friends he was referring to but any occasion to be with taron was one that I would be willing to attend. Especially if I was going as his date!
"Of course T!" I say, excited. I instantly see his eyes light up with happiness, and he pulls out his phone, placing it on the table. "Great! Well I'll message you later the details and I'll get Lindy to get a dress for you, seeing as she did such a great job last time" he winks. I look to the ground and blush slightly. I then quickly look back up at him, realising what he said. "Taron, you don't need to do that, I have plenty of dresses at home" I start, but he cuts me off. "No no no I insist, it's my treat" he says and I sigh. I wasn't going to win this. I glare at him playfully. "Fine" I say and he leans back in his chair, looking accomplished. "Good. Right, I better finish this coffee and get going. Meeting with Dexter" he says, pulling a nervous face. He quickly finishes the coffee in front of him and grabs his stuff. He stands up and makes his way towards me, giving me a small yet meaningful hug. He gives me a smile and places a small kiss on my head as he pulls away and makes his way out of the door, calling out "bye love!" As the door closes behind him. I smile to myself as I make my way behind the counter.
As I push the door open after a shift that felt like it lasted forever, my phone vibrated with a text notification from Taron.
< lindy has sorted your outfit out for the wedding. You are going to look amazing Xx >
I smile to myself and hold the phone close to my chest as I continue my route towards my house, passing the little shops and cafe's around the town of Aberystwyth.
