The wedding was a small but beautiful ceremony. There were gypsophila and lilac roses everywhere and the numerous white drapes were full of dainty fairy lights; It felt like I was in a fairytale. Taron never left me side for the entire day, even when he was talking to his friends, he was always standing next to me or had his arm around me.
The night was warm and the moon was illuminating the small, winding pathways around the venue. Music could still be heard far from the main building where the party was being held.
Taron and I decided to get some air and walk around the grounds for a while. Throwing occasional looks at each other, I couldn't help but imagine what it would be like if me and Taron did actually date; the day spent full of romance and watching happy couples dance and appreciate one another had gotten to me, and I was feeling VERY single.
We carried on walking for a bit further and then Taron stops. I turn to look at him, wondering why he had stopped and he signalled that we should head back to the party, to which I agreed. Before I could take a step in the other direction, Taron holds out his hand. I look down at it and then back at him. He was serious. Cautiously, yet excited about what would happen next, I take his hand and move closer to him. He pulls me closer and wraps his hand around my waist. "Did I tell you how gorgeous you look?" He asks and I nervously chuckle. 'Yes you did T, many times' I laugh back and he raises his eyebrows. He had probably too much to drink, and was finding it difficult to remember what had happened earlier in the day. He continues to look at me, and I watch as his eyes take yet another scan of my body. 'Well, i'm going to tell you again' he chuckles.
As we enter the building and make our way through the bustling bodies on the dance floor, the music changes and 'Something about the way you look tonight' by Elton John begins to play. That was my favourite song of all time.
Excited, I turn to face taron and flash him a grin. He instantly understands my request and pulls me to the dance floor. As he wraps his arms around my body, he pulls me closer to him, our bodies pushed against each other. As I place my head on his shoulder, I can hear him singing along under his breath.
'And I can't explain,
but it's something about the way you look tonight.
Takes my breath away,
it's that feeling I get about you deep inside'.It is as if he is singing those words to me, like we are the only people in the room. I pull away slowly, gazing up into his eyes as he continues to hum the tune of the song.
We stay in this position for what feels like an eternity, before I decide to do something brave. I run my hands over his white shirt, just as I did before we left, and then remember what I was desperate to do back then. My hands wander from his chest to the tie, which I caress gently, before grabbing it and pulling him down to me, my lips meeting his as I do.
I can feel that his initial reaction is to panic and remain still, unsure of what to do or how to react, but he slowly accepts what is happening, kissing me back passionately. We pull away from each other slowly and continue looking into each other's eyes. Oh my god, that was real.
He flashes me a large smile, only to be met with one in return. I don't know what came over me. He pulls me into a tight embrace and doesn't let go until the song finishes. He pulls away and kisses the top of my head.
