They sat there together watching the sun slip behind the hills.
"You know you can't hide out here forever right?" Jake asked her finally.
"Well I can sure as hell try." Bella muttered, wrapping her coat tighter around her body.
"I'm surprised he didn't follow you actually." He replied, turning round to look back at the forest, before turning back round and laid down, looking at the stars that began appearing above them.
"Why did Brendan want revenge?... I mean, what did Casey ever do wrong to him?" She asked, lying down next to Jake.
"Well.. I.. Okay I'm not supposed to know this, but apparently Casey was dating this chick but he didn't realise that Brendan was dating her too. Casey was out with the girl, Victoria I think her name was, and he was meant to be looking after his little sister, but when they got back she wasn't there. That was the day that she died." Jake finished, sighing.
"Holy crap."
"Technically it was all Victoria's fault, she told him to leave the little brat so they could go out, and because Casey was so head over heels in love with her he agreed... And the rest is history."
"Where is she now?" She asked.
"Hell knows, all I know is she keeps trying to make Casey's life hell. Last time he saw her was just before we moved into that new house."
A silence fell on the two.
"Jake."
"Yes?"
"Remember what I told you in the hospital?"
"Yeah, I remember."
"I'm not crazy, I promise you I saw some-" she was cut off by him.
"I believe you."
"what? What made you realise that I wasn't lying?" She asked, looking over at him.
"I saw something. I don't know what it was, but it was something, someone I don't know." He sounded confused, like he still didn't know what was going on.
"When was this, why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"You were going through a lot."
"Does anyone else know?"
"I told Millie, she told me to tell you."
"Well, thank you for believing me."
Another silence settled upon them.
"I'm sorry for not believing you sooner."
"It's okay, I forgive you."
He stood up, brushing the dirt off his jeans before holding a hand out to her, which she took so he could pull her up.
"C'mon, let's go home."
