After spending the weekend with the Cullens Aleena shouldn't be surprised when she finds herself stood with the family in the school parking lot on Monday waiting for Edward and Bella.
Yet as Jasper leans his chest into her back and Alice wraps an arm around her own she can't help but feel embarrassed at the attention it brings. Over the weekend Aleena had also been told of the world of mates and although not specifically told she gathered Jasper and Alice were mates and now felt silly for the feelings she had brewing in her chest for the couple.
"Here he is."
Aleena eyes snap over the parking lot locking onto Edwards figure and she slumps slightly,
"Wait where's Bella?"
Sensing a drop in her emotions, Jasper turns to look at the witch and smirks seeing her pout, reaching a cold finger up he pokes her cheek lightly and she huffs looking at him in pretend anger.
"Bella?" Alice asks in confusion as Edward nears,
"Jacob took her." Alice huffs at this, frustrated to him blocking her ability. Aleena slumps slightly into Jasper, she had been hoping to see her friend today but clearly the wolves weren't having it. Only a few seconds pass before the bell chimes out signalling the start of the day and Alice is quick to detach and go skipping towards the entrance with Jasper following.
Aleena wandering eyes after the couple don't go unnoticed and Edward frowns at the seemingly sad girl,
"Bella's your mate right?" Edward nods as the small witch turns to look at him, he smiles lightly seeing strands of her hair begin to float up, something she described to happen when she felt any emotion strongly, he guessed it was embarrassment at the moment.
"Yeah she is, just like Alice, Jasper and- wait" Edward scoffs at his siblings stupidity as a memory plays out in the girls head. Leave it to the couple to explain mates but not actually tell the girl she's theirs, "Those idiots." Edwards swings a friendly arm round Aleena shoulder, "come on we got maths." With Aleena mind now distracted she groans at this information,
"But i hate maths!"

"You guys are fucking idiots you know that right?" Edward says and Alice and Jasper instantly go to protest but Edward speaks again before they can,
"Let's go through your weekend shall we? You invite Aleena round and everyone gets to know her and you all become closer, sure nothing wrong. You tell her about mates, good. What you don't do is mention that she is your mate. Now she feels stupid for having attraction to you two because she knows you're mates and think you'll never like her." The couple look at each other thinking about their weekend before Alice opens her mouth and mutters a soft,
"Fuck."

"Aleena!" Jasper didn't miss how the grey haired girl slightly jumped at Alice's loud voice from up the corridor. However the young witch turns with a smile anyway as the vampires reach her,
"How come we didn't see you at lunch?"
"Oh sorry I didn't think you'd want to since Bella wasn't here! I was just sat in the library." Alice frowns at this placing her hand on the girls only for the witch to move her hand away,
"Of corse we still want to see you if Bella isn't in you're our family too! speaking of, Jasper and I really need to talk to you... come round ours after school?" Aleena nods with a thin lipped smile before running off to class.

The three were outside quite a distance from the Cullen house as to have privacy from listening ears, most likely Emmett.
"What did you want to talk about?"
Jasper could feel Aleena was worried and was quick to send calming waves while Alice spoke to reassure her everything was fine.
"Remember two days ago when we were talking about mates?" Aleena visibly gulped at this before nodding,
"We missed some things out darlin," Jasper continued and Aleena stayed quite. Alice softly moved to stand in front of Aleena while she and Jasper sat on a fallen tree,
"Jasper and I are mates." Aleena was quick to nod,
"Yeah I figured as much a-and I'm really happy for you guys." Alice smiles lightly,
"Yeah. But... So are you and I, and Jasper and you." Aleena eyes widen,
"W-what?" Despite asking the question before either of the vampires can reply Aleena speaks again, or rants more like,
"We're all mates? Like Bella and Edward? That's crazy! Is that why I have this weird pull towards you guys and why you kinda send weird shocks up my body when we touch? I haven't ruined anything with you guys right? I felt so embarrassed for having a crush on a couple who clearly didn't like me! oh I shouldn't have admitted that. Wait do you like me? Is that why you didn't tell me straight away do you not want me? Thats fine if you don't I kinda expected it but-"
"Darlin take a breath before your hair starts ripping out your head." Aleena frown looking up to see all her hair floating before blushing,
"Sorry."
"We meant to tell you, we actually thought we did and wondered why there wasn't much of a response but I suppose we were so excited we forgot to actually explain."
"And of course we want you silly! You're our mate we aren't whole without you." Alice adds and Aleena feels tears coming to her eyes.
"I'm so happy I met you guys." Jasper smiles bringing the girl in to a hug by her waist and Alice grins throwing her arms around the two excitedly.
"Does this mean we're all like.. together?"
The two grin and Jasper nods,
"Yes love you're out girlfriend."
Finally Aleena felt whole and not like the weird outsider. She knew there was going to be hard times ahead but she was ready for them.
