Bella and Edward enter the police station a few moments after school has finished and as they wait for Charlie to finish speaking to a middle aged couple Bella speaks up,

"So what was that at school? What did Alice see?"

"Nothing. Something about Jasper. It was innocuous."

"I know you know what she saw. Tell me."

"It was nothing."

"You looked worried. You still do so what are you worried abo-"

"Bella!" A familiar voice chimes in cutting Bella's accusations off and then Bella feels a tight grip on her upper arm. Turning Bella sees her friend Aleena, the friend who ran out of school at lunch and hadn't replied to her messages yet. Bella didn't notice but she was also glaring at Edward who stared back in a mix of anger and confusion.

"Where the heck have you been all day!" Aleena hesitantly turns her evil gaze away from Edward and gives Bella a much softer one.

"Sorry, first day struggles am I right? Just got a little overwhelmed." Bella gives her a look saying she doesn't believe her, "I'm fine, promise. Now i got to go I was just dropping some work off for my mom." Aleena wraps Bella into a hug giving Edward a look that says, yeah that's right, I know. Before she pulls away. "Bye Bella. Cya Edward."

"Bye Aleena."

"I can't believe you're leaving me." Aleena complains the next next while closing Bella's car door as they step out into the schools parking area.

"It's only the weekend, stop being dramatic."

"But it's my first proper weekend here! I wanted you to show me around!"

"I can do that literally any day after school. Today even."

"Shut up." Aleena mumbled shoving Bella slightly.

Yesterday Aleena had spent the whole afternoon and night reading up on what her grandmothers books, which had arrived with her other belongings earlier that day, had about vampires and cursing herself for not reading it sooner in more detail as her brilliant memory would have been able to calm her much quicker if she had, instead she only knew the basics. After careful consideration she realised she could probably trust the Cullen's, probably. They're eyes weren't red, there were no piles of missing people cases around the town and Bella was still alive clearly so, what's not to trust!

"Oh hey don't go running off anywhere today. Alice wants to meet you apparently."

"Alice is who exactly?"

"That would be me!" Aleena jumps as a hand in placed on her shoulder and sends a weird jolt through her body, I didn't read about that.

"Hi, I'm Alice Cullen." The two friends stop walking as Alice hops in front of them and gives a quick smile to Bella before focusing back in on Aleena. Before Aleena can stop her mouth from embarrassing her she speaks as soon as she sees the pixie-like girl

"Pretty. Oh umm you're pretty and you're name is pretty too um i'm-"

"Aleena Moon. I know, and thank you. You are also pretty." Aleena smiles at this receiving one back from Alice.

"Hey do you know where Edward is?" Bella asks and Aleena is the one to break eye contact with Alice while the short girl continues to look at Aleena's side profile with a smile,

"He said he was going to head to your locker to wait for you." Bella nods appreciatively,

"Thanks. I'll see you in first period Aleena." Said girl smiles before looks back at Alice,

"Hi." She mutters shyly,

"Hi." Alice grins reaching out and linking her arm with Aleena's who had her hands in her knee length coat pockets.

"Oh!" Aleena exclaims surprised as Alice begins dragging her forward until they reach a bench somehow isolated from everyone else,

"Soo, my brother seems to think you know something."

Oh my god. Aleena thinks, I've been pulled away to be murdered by a cute vampire girl. Just play it cool

"I know a lot of thinks. Anything specific you're talking about?" Aleena couldn't help but send a quick look to her side to see Alice staring intensely at her,

"How do you know?" She speaks in a soft tone but it the urgency and confusion is clear. There's a long silence and Aleena half wishes the bell would ring but she knows Bella has arrived very early this morning to see Edward. Finally she speaks,

"Vampires are interesting. I read up on you last night since I only really knew the basics and there's a lot more to you then I thought. I mean some of you have gifts? And you sparkle! And you guys have soulmates that's so cool." A cold weight is instantly on her arm,

"How."

"My grandma is quite old, or was. And witches tend to make their own little books on all magic they know of." Aleena knows there's no point lying, or maybe it was fear that made her tell the truth.

"Witch? Your grandma is a witch?" Alice says with a gasp, Aleena can't tell if it's out of shock or admiration.

"She was yeah. It skips a generation usually so it skipped my dad and well..."

"You got it. You're a witch too. Wow" Aleena couldn't help the smile that peaks out at Alice's last word.

"Yeah... don't worry I won't tell anyone. As long as you don't."

"Does Bella know?"

"No. Does she know about your family?" Aleena really hoped it was no.

"Yes. Found out just under two years ago."

"What?!" Just then the bell chimes and Alice instantly stands up, "where are you going?"

"Class silly. You should too. See you at lunch!" And with that Alice runs away and Aleena is sat in shock. How can she just leave mid conversation, and such a important conversation! After a few moments and a nasty look from a teacher she rushes off to class, to Bella.

It's only when class has fully started and everyone has settled that Aleena thinks of how Bella is involved in all of this and that's when she panics, what if Edward tells her what she is, or Alice or anyone else in the family.

"Hey Bella?"

Bella doesn't look away from the front of the classroom where the teacher is demonstrating something but she does let out a little hum to show she's listening.

"Can I actually take you up on that showing me around tonight?" Bella turns to look at her and gives a small smile,

"Yeah of corse."

Aleena nods and turns away from her now slightly less stressed.
She didn't want to have to tell Bella but she much preferred her to do it then a Cullen.
