It was a Saturday evening; we were in the simulation room training. The simulation room worked a bit like a virtual reality system, we type in the simulation we want to experience and the room generates it. It's like being inside a Virtual Reality world. We were half-way between killing some training dummies when the doorbell rang. Nobody ever rang the doorbell because nobody knew where our den was because when we created the den I came up with the idea that the people who could see the den were those with an animal spirit or powers. I opened the screen for the outside cameras only to find a boy our age with short black hair and wearing sunglasses. My instant response was that he was blind but when he looked into the lens of the camera and waved I quickly discarded that theory. We let him in and exited the simulation room to go and meet him. He said that his name was Brian and the reason he was able to find our den was because he was a warrior too. I noticed the crystal on his forehead and in the centre was a yellow crescent moon which I immediately recognised as the dark element.

"You're not evil are you?"

"No, why do you ask?"

"I recognised the dark element on your crystal, darkness is said to be a source of evil!"

"Well I'm not, I've learnt to control it and use it to my ability!"

He seemed good enough and looked like he had a lot of potential but the only problem is when will we need an element as powerful as the dark element. As far as I'm aware I don't think Scorpius's monsters are that powerful yet. The element sensor went off and even though Mystica was in the den we couldn't leave Brian here. We geared up and set off to the location marked on the map. The scene was chaotic, there were burning cars, buildings and people running and screaming in terror. And in the centre of it all was a creature with a metallic body and a giant eyeball for a head, blasting and destroying everything in his path.

"Blake, Shaun get the people to safety, me, Leo and Reece will take care of Foresight!"

Brian was standing there looking around for any ways he could help.

"What about me?"

"Brian it's not safe for you here. I want you to go and take refuge!"

"But..."

"Go now!"

Once Brian took refuge and all the remaining survivors were brought to safety we turned our attention to Foresight. And that was when we learned the hard way of how he got his name. Every time we tried to attack him he would see it coming and easily counter it. None of our tactics were working, we even tried to hit him from different angles at the same time and it only ended in a couple of eye blasts. We retreated back to the den along with Brian to recover and to think of a better strategy.

In the den Mystica was making up some healing potions while we were in the main room thinking of how we could beat Foresight.

"How is he able to see all of our attacks at once, it's like he has a sixth sense or something!"

Then Brian stood up with excitement.

"Hey guys, maybe I can help!"

"I don't think so dude, I mean no offence but how can you help us with an enemy that can see everything!"

"I'll show you!"

Brian transformed in the same way we did and in an instant he had completely changed his form. His ears had become pricked up, his teeth had turned into fangs and from under his arms there were webbed wing membranes. The darkness crystal rested on his forehead.

"Dude! That's awesome but how's that going to help us!"

"Bats use echolocation to see in the dark and cats have night vision, right?"

"Yeah, so?"

"Foresight doesn't have those abilities; in the dark his sight will be completely useless!"

"Meaning?"

"You can't hit what you can't see! I can also use dark energy to cancel his eyesight permanently."

It took a while for my brain to process the information before I finally realised what Brian was on about.

But then Reece saw a problem.

"Danny you're forgetting something, me and Shaun can't see in the dark like you guys!"

"Give me your crystals, I have an idea!"

I ran down to the lab and made a few tweaks to Reece and Shaun's crystals. I couldn't give them night vision as it would cancel out the rest of their abilities. So I enhanced their crystals to allow them to see in thermal and ultraviolet. I gave them back their crystals and asked them to test it. Reece now had the ability to track and see in thermal imaging and Shaun could now see in ultraviolet light.

The alarm went off telling us that Foresight had returned and was causing more destruction. We powered up and got there as fast as we could, when we arrived half of the area was already in flames.

"Blake, Shaun, you know the drill!"

"On it!"

After we beat down the Cold bloods we were face to face with Foresight. Just as he was about to launch an attack I gave the signal to Brian.

"Blackout!"

The world around us was sent into complete darkness and the only ones who could see were me, Blake and Leo. Reece and Shaun turned to ultraviolet and thermal. Brian was able to see using echolocation which was a bit like seeing with sound. He would make high-pitched clicks that would bounce off objects and back to his brain which would then make up a three-dimensional map.

Foresight on the other hand was completely blind. His eyesight was completely disabled which gave us an advantage. Using every bit of strength, we launched attack after attack until Foresight was unable to stand. I asked Brian if he wanted to help with the final blow. Using the elemental circle and Brian's signature move the 'circle of darkness' we finally finished our eyed enemy.

Back at the den we found Brian packing his things. We asked if he wanted to stay with us but he insisted on moving to Borneo and finding his own 'man' cave. We said our farewells and he set off.

Later that day I went down to the library where I found a section on the different elements. Reece appeared a little later to find me reading a book about the dark element.

"Hey man, what are you reading?"

"I'm reading about the dark element, and I think Brian can do more with it than we thought!"

"Like what?"

"There's too many to name"
