Chapter 12: Mystic Forces

Deep in his cave Scorpius was furious! "As soon as I have gained ultimate power I am going to destroy those pathetic creatures once and for all!" Just after he had said it a girl with magenta coloured hair and fair skin walked into the cave. She had purple eyes and wore an amulet on her forehead. Scorpius rose from his throne.

"Who are you?"

"You can call me Arcana; master!"

"You have potential, I'll make you a deal; destroy the animal warriors and I will grant you unlimited power!"

"As you wish!"

I told my friends that today I was going to the museum with my mum and dad so I couldn't hang out. Just as me and my parents were leaving the museum I heard the communicator on my watch beep. I told my mum and dad that I had to use the bathroom and while I checked that no one was following me, I hid behind one of the corners. I turned on my communicator and spoke to Reece on the other end.

"Dude, I told you not to call me today!"

"We have a problem! There's a large power source approaching you!"

"What?"

"We're heading towards your location; you better get ready because hell's about to go down!"

Just as the call ended I heard a large explosion outside the museum. I powered up and rushed outside, a chunk of the building had collapsed and people were running in panic. I looked around to see if my parents had made it out safely, to my relief I saw them take refuge under a fallen slab of concrete that had wedged itself between a building creating a sloped shelter. I ran to meet up with my team who had just arrived with Mystica. Suddenly there was the sound of mischievous laughter as a girl with magenta coloured hair wearing an amulet on her head walked out from the dust. And at that very moment I saw Mystica had frozen with fear.

"Remember me M!"

"Arcana!"

I looked at her with confusion.

"Mystica, you know this girl?"

"All too well!"

We grabbed our weapons and took our positions. Fighting this girl was beginning to become an impossible task. Every time we tried to attack her she would cast spell after spell with the palms of her hands that would either block our attacks or damage us in ways I didn't think was possible. Once we were too weak to fight she walked up to us with a grin on her face.

"Animal warriors; that is a joke, I'm done playing with you now!"

After she disappeared into a portal we retreated back to the den. We took quite a hit; our wounds were so deep that Mystica insisted on bandaging us.

"Who is that girl?"

"Her name's Arcana; she used to be my best friend!"

"What happened?"

"She thought it would be fun to learn dark magic. I told her that I wouldn't do it. She called me a wuss and I didn't see her for five years until one day she found me and challenged me to a battle. I barely made it out alive."

"So she's back for revenge?"

"No! I think she came to finish what she once started!"

Shaun rose from his seat. "Mystica you saw yourself; she beat us like eggs! We can't defeat her!"

"Shaun's right! Our powers are worthless against her!"

Mystica smiled to herself, "Well how about an upgrade?"
