They must be a sight to see, Kathryn reckons. Her and Kie, drenched, covered in what can only be poo, Pope in the corner, very visibly uneasy about the whole ordeal, and JJ, who walked in like he owns the place.
The gun is set on his desk, waiting for him to react to what the kids just told him. Which is, more or less, what they've always been telling the police; Rafe Cameron shot Peterkin and Max. With the gun they just delivered.
"So y'all are telling me this is the firearm Rafe Cameron killed Peterkin and shot Donovan with?" Clearly, he's slow today.
Kathryn stares flatly at him. "Yes, that's what we're saying. Thrilled you were listening."
"Kat," he tries, but she ignores him. After their last altercation, she's not exactly planning on being all sparks and rainbows. He should've just called Billy instead.
"It's also the exact same firearm that Ward just used to kill Gavin," Pope quickly adds.
"I..." Shoupe sighs again. "And where's that corpse again?"
Kathryn scoffs. "What, too lazy to get your thumbs out of your arse and look for him yourself?"
"Kathryn!"
She holds up her hands in reddition, but Kie narrows her eyes at Shoupe. "Do we have to do everything for you? Did you even look for Gavin?"
He nods. "I checked the hospital. I went by his house. He was out."
This is borderline revolting. He has to be joking, or to be doing this on purpose. How can he be that dense?
"He was out?" she repeats.
JJ shakes his head. "No shit! 'Cause he's dead!"
"Listen to yourself."
"It makes perfect sense."
"Just because he's not in his damn home does not mean he was a victim of a homicide!" Shoupe cries out.
"Are you serious?" Kathryn lets out. "No but, actually. How many times do we have to have the same conversation over and over again for you to connect your two brain cells and realise that the Camerons are always the problem!" She scoffs. "Like, are you going to send it to ballistic or do we have to do that for you too?"
