Then this child is...
I gazed upon the child who was a little bit taller than me. His eyes glint in the shade of green... It was enchanting. Though going back to what just had happened, based on the many genres of books I have read it seems like the sudden rush of mana was the so-called resonance.
But, why and how do I have specifically vast amount of mana when I showed no talent back in the past.
"a-ah!"
A spark lit in his eyes as he ran towards a bush filled roses. The young boy came up once again to me, eyes towards the flower he had picked as if wishing to do something. Though I was confused, I tried to understand the sudden burst of enthusiast the young boy had.
Before a moment of thinking the young boy went and spread his arms forward extending his palms that had clasped the rose.
"b-beaut-tiful, hehe"
Ah... I began to realize this was nothing but a fleeting moment filled with sincere emotions. It was most touching.
"Are you giving this to me?"
"Ye-yes!"
I was quite happy indeed, but, this warm feeling was precious. Therefore, I did not have the time to feel such.
I smiled looking at the boy, now to officiate, Ascot was his name. I began to think.
"Thankyou... Ascot"
Ascot looked quite surprised having a slightly opened mouth.
"m-my n-name! pl-please s-say my n-name!"
"...?... Ascot?"
Ascot looked as if he had heard his name for the first time with his eyes once again creating a spark- going back to his standing, I stood idle utterly confused but at the same time intrigued. Frederick had a family but from what I see it, it does not seem like the baron knows. I have yet to see all of the children.
Perhaps a play mate could be my excuse to greet the other children...
"My lady, please have a seat"
Alfred said spreading down a handkerchief down the grass. As I sat down, it was ever more peaceful that I could hear clearly everything that made music and noise.
"Ascot, may I ask do you have a condition?"
"o-oh, ye-yes! m-my mo-m to-told me th-that I s-stutt-ter a l-lot"
"My, you do, tell me was the maid that just went by a while ago your mother?"
"y-yes"
Ascot was indeed a cute child. The main thing I could see is that, this child looked exactly like sir Frederick.
"How about your father?"
"...m-mom t-told me I-I di-dint ha-have o-one..."
Oh... this only connects things. Sir Frederick indeed sure kept things to himself. Perhaps the maid is sir Fredericks mistress and this is his Illegitimate child.
After a couple of minutes, the maid I saw not too long ago by Ascots side was therefore standing in front of me.
"My lady, Oh!"
The maid staggered to her right as she stood quite surprised. She looked at me only remembering to gaze down making no clear eye contact.
"Hmm?"
"Ah- pardon me, the young master is done with his affairs. He asks for my lady's presence"
I stood up running my palms on my dress scurrying over dirt. I extend my hand to Alfred taking few steps over small to big pebbles.
I could see the slight averse maid gazing upon Ascot, it seems to me that she was trying to be cautious and as I give my attention to Ascot her cautiousness would fall futile.
"Then I will be going now"
"I am very sorry! I must have had my head flying. I shall escort my lady"
"Don't you worry, I have Alfred with me so go on, you are excused"
My statement only meant that I had known her relation with the child and I would try my best to cover up for her.
An unexcepted gain indeed.
I had taken my time walking from the hunting grounds back to the house. There I see sir Frederick conversing with the merchant just outside the entrance.
"The budget is all set now, though it will take a few days before the renovation for the West annex starts"
"Great, then please direct the message to me when it starts"
"How about the lady?"
"No need the lady has me as representative"
"It is needed though? Right sir Frederick
I looked straight into the mans eyes smiling from popping out from nowhere. Upon over hearing their conversation I had began to realize that sir Frederick entitled himself as my representative without agreement.
"Sir Frederick, I did not know you were this... stupid pfft"
"m-my lady?"
I had known from a long time that sir had only taken the bait but is yet to be captured, so naturally he would do things his way and the ways that would benefit him. Naturally he wouldn't trust a dukes 4-year-old daughter so it isn't surprising.
But... since he would dare to deceive me, I guess this much could do.
"Sir Frederick if I had known you were going to deceive me openly like this in front of an innocent person only tells that you ridiculed me?"
"It isn't like that my lady-
"Then what is it? a simple chatter of two men? ... hmm Alfred, is it not that when a loyal servant deceives the duke's daughter then that means they are in the same position as of a criminal"
"Yes, my lady, a criminal would need to repay with the same amount they took"
"Then perhaps if it's by words then... cutting off their tongues?" I smiled
"I am terribly sorry my lady!!, I did not mean to keep the thought to myself" Calvin looked, paled and sweating.
"My lady I am also sorry... I will make sure that I won't make the same mistakes"
Frederick sighed looking at his papers. To be honest this was an awfully simple apology but since I do not have much influence throughout mean's I cannot do much more than this.
"Then make sure, okay? It will not only be a threat next time"
I said gazing up to the two adults awkwardly standing in response.
I- I HI!! I'm sorry, I could not commit to this novel because of school and many happenings in my life. I hoped y'all loved this chapter I will try to write the next chapter earlier.
