One day passed from the offer for sir Frederick, its either I wait patiently in this broken-down annex until my 5th birthday or with hard work pull things through. As I sit on an old wooden chair, I began sheathing the tip of my quill with ink. It hasn't been at the very least one week from returning back in time so the earlier the better, I had written down the events that happened when I was older. Events that I needed to be mindful of. Well of course I had written it in demon language or should I say abyssal, normal people rarely even knows it.
I was really studious and wanted to gain favor even thus words I've learned for years.
There were no typical rest days for me, I had to also look into Baron Neil's embezzlement I do have the upper hand for knowing but nothings really so simple. This is where slavery takes turn. Back then on the third day of investigating Baron Neil's embezzlement it was found half of the money was put into slavery Baron Neil's worked with a definite merchant exporting goods in and out the Kingdom.
Oh, how everything connects, though some part of me thinks that Count Vicar has taken part since he had a merchant kind of business still it won't hurt to look at his point of view. I placed down the quill in hand looking towards the door. The floor creaked as I plopped down the high chair running towards the high doorknob.
Amongst the maids here Elise had the most competent look but far troublesome. Though, if I play this correctly, I could use her for investigating a slavery merchant.
"Luara"
"ah yes my lady!"
"can you bring back new types of food while you go down the market?"
"ah go to the market? Though my lady that is scheduled for tomorrow"
"would it hurt you to buy food earlier? I mean you guys could take some time off tomorrow"
"time of... then my lady ill buy some right away"
"thank you! Please do bring back newspapers too local ones"
"right away?"
Luara must wondering why a Duke's daughter isn't asking for high society newspaper, women of high society would surely enjoy it but that kind of newspapers tends to have falsely written news. For now, I had to wait for that local newspaper and with that I could see what trade merchants are doing especially Count Vicar. Now, I had to take care of the west Annex since sir Frederick still had not given me funds and solely living off the Dukes pocket money for me...
As I went by the aged halls just to examine and give thoughts about the future of the annex simple little bells was what I heard tapped against each other. What I see next as I turned my head towards the entrance was quite the local brand of suite colored in brown, a hat covering his black hair. This was of becoming a real signature for sir Frederick indeed, though it was not sir Frederick in front of me but what looked like a merchant who was carrying quite the luggage.
I see... sir Frederick had become curious meaning he had accepted the offer. The offer was quite extreme actually and was such a gamble but I had no plan to lose against him.
"I am merchant Calvin from count Vicar, sent by baron Neil. I will be serving my lady"
"I see, then we should go by the discussion"
"as you please my lady"
Now, I could easily worry no more about the place I'd reside too. The merchant easily agreed to my conditions simply I had told him I would pay him a rightful price with the service he is to give. Yet my job was not done now I had to make sir Frederick a baron. Quite easy to say but impossible to do for a 4-year-old that is...
"sir Calvin had you gone by baron Neil's carriage?"
"ah yes my lady"
"meaning you left materials to use at the Baron or perhaps at the Count, if possible, I would like to examine the material's I am to use"
Sir Calvin had recommended using garnished wood for the floors, marbled walls, concrete roofs, regular wooden doors except some rooms such as mine, the dining hall, guest room, drawing room, and so on. Taking such amount off my budget indeed. Though I wasn't going to examine the materials just to sulk on the money I am to lose it is the quality and the certain kind of materials that would fit the annex.
"it is at Baron Neil's my lady"
Also, to meet sir Frederick.
Alfred had asked for the merchant to lend me a ride, quite undignified but I lacked people anyways. The ride out the main building's area was quite... difficult. I had sat with Alfred just across sir Calvin while I smiled 'genuinely' I sarcastically thought hearing horse's clip-clopped. We landed outside a humbly looking house though cannot be called exactly like a mansion. There I saw coordinated servants tending the house.
A boy with long blonde hair wearing round glasses stepped outside the entrance with whom looked like an attendant. With the same height as Alfred, he stood at least 2 meters away from me. Then bowed.
"I am first son of Baron Neil's, Jay, we are honored for my lady's visit though what might the reason to visit our humble family my lady?"
This boy surely was great with words, though a family huh.
"I would like to have a short look at some materials your father baron Neil had stated"
"Oh? well then please wait a moment"
"ah there is no need to ask Baron Neil since I have a merchant sent by him, you could ask this fellow to confirm it"
"... yes"
It would be troublesome if Baron Neil had known about my presence since I could presume that sir Frederick had asked for the merchant just under Baron Neil's name. After a short discussion from Baron's son and sir Calvin I had been happily invited in. Truly a beloved place.
"Alfred please send a short notice to Elise that while I am gone take care of some business for me regarding a newspaper"
"yes, my lady, then can I assign a fellow familiar to you?"
"familiar?"
If I heard correctly then Alfred is basically saying he has a familiar by his side. Like when I was 16 years old, I had a knight assigned to me that used to always bring his familiar spirit that had an affinity for water. That Knight that also kept me company...
"Alfred... then please do so"
"yes, my lady"
The glowing yellow particles that looked like was being collected from just air formed a small bright yellow butterfly. It was quite... disappointing since familiars were supposed to be attracted to a person's personality and mana capacity though butterflies weren't really strong but sly.
Alfred has quite the character really.
