The confusion and anger from that woman's eyes the duchess was seeping out. Hostility filled my surroundings as if the maids were partaking in it. She silently whispered to her close aid leaving the duke with crossed arms impatiently making a frowning face.

This was quite harsh... I flinch on the strict looking maid as she went grabbing my arm forcing me to stand up on two's, her grip was something I should have never underestimated. It was probably because I had a small delicate body that a red mark of the maid's fingers was left on my pale skin.

I had the most hostile glare from the duchess, was it a bad choice suddenly changing overnight. Was I too hasty and got carried away from the second chance I got?

Well at the very least when it comes to these lovely parents of mine. I should act opposed since I do not want to be betrothed. Surely the Duke is smart enough to think about the future of this Kingdom.

"Good morning everyone, Duke Christian and Duchess... and Lady Deanna"

A small voice but dignified and confident, he was certainly about my age. The second prince Lucas Hendrix. I've heard his name plenty of times, when I was learning Economy and Royal Bloodline History. Apparently, he is a prodigy in studies and when he grew up, he had many credits in the society word even spread into Etheledo Kingdom. He was the unchanged number one throne candidate through his childhood prodigy days too his youth.

I bow down recognizing his face, so he was the person I saw back in the library. What beautiful silver hair.

"no need to be formal second prince"

I smiled facing the prince who was a little perplexed but flattered well it looks like everyone else in the dining hall was. Then it hit me! I was yet to master etiquette; I was still 4 years old and back then there was no prodigious signs of the Dukes daughter. This... makes it harder to act like villainess.

I lost my footing stumbling upon my dress as I hit the floor, my knees were bent down and arms grazing on the shiny porcelain tiles. The duchess was definitely vexed upon seeing my clumsiness. The strict looking maid that aided the Duchess had the faintness smirk and the second prince was taken aback.

Yes, I was just 4 years old and I had to hold my figure, not doing so will make people see my inept side there would be people who will be pleased and unpleased. And that includes this prince that may have taken slight interest on a studious lady. Too bad- prince Lucas seems to have lost interest while walking down the seat. Aine held out her hand as I stagger pitifully. It seems that introductions were disrupted by me that the atmosphere in the hall changed-

"so, how's my brother the King?"

"Oh, father is doing very well, recently he had assigned new officials to take the stage"

"Hmm well do give my congratulations pinch in a little bit of 'I miss you' in there too"

"yes Uncle"

Chitter chatter they went, filled with two faced words. I could not even imagine this prince understanding what's behind the Dukes words. A prodigy or not you must not be full on yourself, just seeing how he reacted earlier made me a lot more disappointed. The woman sitting across me eating quietly and humbly, the duchess, was truthfully listening. Mother was an Earl's daughter, she was raised in a very humble family despite being quite distinguished and it was because of that, that she had been secretly wanting prestige, ranks, and a very capable man to marry. All this and that information from my past.

"Father! do you know The Tale of The Fox?"

I enthusiastically spouted butting in the young prince and the duke's conversation. The duke glanced at me calmly tilting his head just to inform me 'interested'.

"So, the tale started when a small fox was born, the fur was very white that glistened in the sun, fairly close to silver, the small fox was alone not knowing who or even what gave birth to that small fox. It grew in the wilderness always looking out behind itself just to survive. Then it found a home, a small home only fit for a small fox and a big man. The man was beautiful, the man had the same white hair like the fox, they got along pretty well but... the man was being chased and was on death's door their fun and peacefulness hadn't last."

"so, after that the man died and the fox grew alone"

The prince bluntly interrupted sipping on his water. He smiled at me making me cringe, well because why wouldn't I cringe, he was a 4-year-old boy and had such baby face and to smile slyly... it doesn't fit him! shame on this prince breaking my novel like perception.

"I've heard of that story many times, I didn't know my lady was fond of such... 'cute' story"

He said sarcastically then eating casually like he had done nothing infuriating. I smile tilting my head naively thanking his 'sarcastic' compliment.
