"We will be starting our first project of the year," Bennett begins to speak. Immidiately, the class groans, but quickly shut up once a threatening look spreads across his face. "That's what I thought." He continues, "Anyway. You get to pick a book of your choice that fits the requirements, which I will go over later. Everything you need to know is on the sheet of paper that Miss Evans will pass out when I'm finished talking. Keep in mind that this is not a group project and you can't pick the same book as somebody else. Is everyone on the same page, here?" Everyone nods. "Good." He walks to his desk and picks up a pile of papers, then motions for me to get them and pass them out.

I get out of my seat and walk over to him to retrieve the stack of worksheets. "I'll need to see you after class." He says quietly, but sternly. I smirk at him, my back facing the class so that they can't see.

"Yes, sir." I say, softly biting my lip, taking the papers from him. He only raises an eyebrow before I turn on my heel and begin passing out the papers.

After 8th period, I head straight for Bennett's classroom, when I run into Calem Rogers in the hallway. He's one of the annoying, horny party boys who has been trying to get into my pants since we were freshman.

"So, I'm assuming you'll be at the party this weekened?" He asks, approaching me with a smirk.

"Of course you were invited." I grumble, trying to brush passed him, but he blocks my way.

"Oh come on! You know you're thrilled." He says, still smirking.

I scoff. "Yeah. Sure. Now please get out of my way, I have to go to-" He cuts me off.

"Detention?"

"Uh- Yeah." Now I'm aggravated.

"Typical Allie. Always been a bad girl. I like it."

I furrow my eye brows and scoff in disgust. "Piss off, loser." I spat as I push passed him, and storm down the hallway to Bennett's classroom.

"You're late." Is the first thing he says when I enter the room.

"Sorry, I got stopped by Calem Rogers." I grumble, closing the door behind me.

"That little shit? What did he want?" He asks, gesturing me to sit down.

I take a seat directly in front of him, putting my things to the side. "Asking if I'm going to Olivia's party this weekend. Trying to get with me." I tell him, rolling my eyes at the thought.

"Are you going to this party?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.

I shrug. "I promised Liv I would go, so yeah. Plus it's gonna be huge, I couldn't miss it."

"Hmm." He seems to be in deep thought, stroking the light scruff on his chin. "I don't think that would be a good idea." He finally says.

I'm stunned my his response. Where did this come from? Who does he think he is? My father?? I shrug. "Well I didn't ask what you thought about it." I reply, bluntly. Showing my irritation with his comment.

He raises a brow at me. "I don't want you going to that party. Especially not with Calem there. I don't trust him, and you shouldn't either." He tells me, sounding like a controlling parent. "You'll be with me that night instead." He adds, matter-of-factly.

I scoff. "Excuse me?" I snap. "I'm going to that party and you have no place to tell me whether I can or can't go. Not even my own parents tell me what to do, so who are you telling me what to do?"

He stands up, towering over me. "Well maybe it's time you have some structure in your life. That's why you're so reckless, you don't have your parents telling you what to do, so you need someone."

I stand up now, "Well it's not gonna be you!" I raise my voice. "God! We make out once and you're already trying to take over my life! Kissing you was a mistake. Coming here was a mistake. Have a nice weekend, Bennett." I say coldly. I throw my back over my shoulder and march out of the classroom, not letting him put in another word.

I head straight from the school to Olivia's house to help her plan the party.

"So why did you have to stay after for a little bit?" Liv asks as she calculates how much alcohol we'll need.

"Oh, I just had to re-take a test." I lie, not wanting to tell her I was with Bennett.

"That sucks. What class?"

"German." I lie again.

"Did you pass this time?"

"I hope so." I give her a small smile, hoping she'll shut up about this. "So Calem's coming..." I begin, changing the subject.

"I had to invite him. He's one of those guys that brings the party with him, I knew you wouldn't like that, but are you surprised?"

"Well, no. But still. He's such man whore." I grumble, opening 'Facebook' on my phone.

"But he's hot as shit." She smirks, adding a wink.

I scoff. "As if!"

I am welcomed to Facebook with seven notifications. Six of them are people 'liking' my status, but one stands out and makes my stomach knot. William Bennett accepted your friend request. I forgot I sent him a request... My thoughts think about earlier, not even an hour ago he pushed me over the edge, I'm still so angry with him.
