Declaration Of War (Part 16)

     "Alpha, babe. Wake up." Alpha heard Trevor saying. He opened his eyes slowly, only to feel pain.
   Ren Kai and Ryder stood at the edge of the couch. Trevor held onto Alpha's hand tightly. Alpha was shirtless due to several bandages wrapped around his chest. He turned to Trevor and smiled, putting his hand on Trevor's cheek. Ryder's ears went down and he wrapped his tail around his body.
"What should we do? We are expected to be at the kingdom soon." Ryder said nervously. Trevor kissed Alpha's hand and turned towards Ryder. Alpha closed his eyes.
"Ok. Just let me get changed and we'll g-" Alpha said as he started pushing himself up, only to stop and fall back down in pain.
"Ah!-" Alpha screamed in a muted sound so he'd be quiet. Trevor started worrying and trembled with fear. Ryder felt tears start to fall down his face.
"I'll write to Kai. I'll tell him that we are coming back." Ryder said nervously. Trevor turned towards Ryder immediately.
"He's not there." Trevor said. Ryder stopped and turned towards Trevor.
"He left to take Arthur to the demon royals. But I'd expect him to stop at his families?" Trevor said, questioning himself. Ryder's ears went back up and smiled.
"Guys! I have a plan!" Ryder said quickly.
"Ren Kai has a wagon that Alpha can ride in. When we get to the kingdom, we can take Alpha to the castle library!" Ryder yelled happily. Trevor's eyes gleamed.
"The healing section and the teleport books!" Trevor yelled. Ryder smiled.
"We can get Alpha a healing spell then teleport him to Kai to finish his healing process!" Ryder explained. Alpha shook his head no.
"W-Who's gonna protect you guys then?-" Alpha said stutteringly. Ren sighed.
"I will. I know a thing or two about sword fighting." Ren said impressing himself. Trevor looked down at Alpha and laid his head down on his arm. Ryder nodded his head.
"We'll leave tomorrow." Ryder said.
    One day ago, Alpha and Trevor stupidly wanted some alone time so they said they were gonna go get some more firewood and left Ryder on his own. Ryder was sitting by the fire when he heard a branch break. He saw three lanterns pop up and then three deranged dragons who weren't civil anymore. They were all carrying swords. Ryder looked at them curiously until they started running aggressively towards him. He stood up quickly and ran the direction that Trevor and Alpha went. What Ryder didn't know was that those three dragons were actually pretty fast. He ran up to his brother and Alpha who couldn't keep their personal love interests to themselves. He pushed them off a tree they were making out on.
"Hey! There are three dragons chasing me! I think they're hostile!" Ryder said quickly. The frightened and embarrassed Trevor and Alpha looked at Ryder confusedly until Alpha caught a glimpse of one of them, sneaking up on Ryder. Alpha quickly swapped places with Ryder and was stabbed on the left side of his chest. He fell to the ground but got back up quickly. Trevor, who was terrified for Alpha, carried him on his back and ran fast with Ryder. They finally got up to the cabin. They banged on the door dozens of times until Ren answered cautiously.
"Please help us!" Ryder screamed. Ren squinted his eyes and started shutting the door.
"Wait please! We won't hurt you! I'm dating a dragon and they had a dragon son!" Ryder said quickly. Ren stopped and opened the door a little again, enough for Ryder to see his face. His mouth dropped and rubbed his eyes.
"You are- You are Ren Kai!" Ryder said quickly. Ren's eyes widened and opened the door all the way.
"How the hell do you know my name?!" Ren asked strictly. Ryder smiled in glee.
"I lived with Shawna Ray, Caroo Ray, Jay Jane, and Kai Kai for several months! And Kai Kai is my boyfriend!" Ryder said quickly. Ren's eyes practically popped out of his eye sockets. Then he groaned and picked up Alpha.
"Go lead them away from here then come back." Ren said then closed the door. Trevor and Ryder stood there shocked until they heard the hostile dragons. They started running into the woods, fast.

    Kai flew right through the border into the demon realm with Arthur. He walked the rest of the way. He got into the village and saw the house lights out, except for Jay and his bedroom. He opened the door slowly and shut it quietly once he was inside the surprisingly warm house. He set Arthur in Caroo's living room cradle then snuck upstairs. Jay was trying to read a book. He was sitting on the ground with his knees up against his chest. Kai snuck over to him and sat down next to him.
"Whatcha reading?" Kai asked quietly. Jay jumped quickly and looked at Kai. His frightened face turned into a large smile.
"Kai! You're home!" Jay screamed happily, jumping into Kai's arms and hugging him tightly. Kai smiled and hugged Jay tightly. Jay refused to let go, holding onto Kai's chest. Kai smiled.
"How have you been?" Kai asked, stroking Jay's now longer hair. Jay fought back tears and hid his face in Kai's chest.
"G-good." Jay said nervously, trying not to cry. Kai smiled his eyes and chuckled.
"I found our wolf." Kai said. Jay started laughing.
"W-Where is he?" Jay asked happily, still fighting tears. Kai took a breathe then started stroking Jay's hair again.
"Saving our world." Kai said. Jay lifted his face off his chest and rubbed his eyes.
"G-good." Jay said smiling. Kai sat there nervously, debating whether to tell Jay or not.
