Moonlight (Part 5)

    One week later, Alpha and Trevor got back and right then, they got to work on the coronation. Ryder and Kai decided to let themselves be.
    Jay was running through the hall unaware of what he was gonna run into then... BUMP.
   He fell onto the ground and looked up to see what he ran into. He saw his mothers figure standing there.
"Oh sorry momma!" Jay said, standing back up cheerfully. Lin Jane was glaring at the ground then turned to Jay swiftly.
"How old are you now?" Lin Jane asked strictly. Jay tilted his head with confusion.
"Momma, did you forget my age?" Jay asked curiously. Lin Jane threw arms and grabbed Jay's shoulders sternly.
"O-ow!" Jay yelped.
"How old are you!" Lin screamed. Jay trembled at her.
"I-I-I- I'm 11 momma-" Jay said nervously. Lin Jane pushed Jay onto the floor.
"You are old enough to get a job. You need to make money for your family. Especially your father. He's not happy right now." Lin Jane said. Jay stared at Lin Jane like she was crazy.
"Mommy— Daddy's dead." Jay said nervously. Lin Jane gasped then pulled Jay up by the arm.
"WHAT KIND OF SICK JOKE IS THAT?!" Lin screamed. Jay trembled and tears fell from his eyes. Lin Jane slapped Jay across the face.
"Boys don't cry!" Lin Jane yelled. Jay screamed loudly.

      Ryder was starting up a bath for himself. Kai was sitting on the bed reading a book then finally looked up at Ryder. He stood up and walked up to Ryder. He put his arms around Ryder and kissed his neck. Ryder turned around quickly.
"What do you think you are doing?" Ryder asked embarrassedly. Kai pulled Ryder close and kissed him passionately. Ryder pulled into the kiss, putting his arms around Kai's neck. They broke the kiss and Kai started kissing Ryder's neck.
"Can we take a bath together?" Kai asked as he continued to nibble Ryder's neck. Ryder mumbled and pointed towards the door.
"S-Shut the door-" Ryder mumbled. Kai refused to pull away. That was until they heard Jay's scream. Kai and Ryder froze and looked at the door.
"Was that Jay?!" Ryder asked. Kai let Ryder go.
"Yes." Kai said then ran out the door. Ryder followed after Kai.
   Lin Jane pushed Jay on the ground and groaned.
"And stop calling me "mommy." Lin Jane said strictly. Kai and Ryder ran up to them and stared in shock.
"Mother? What's wrong?!" Kai scream in question. Jay's tear filled eyes looked at Kai then stood up.
"Kai!" Jay screamed as he ran into his arms. Kai picked Jay up and looked at his face. His left cheek looked red and it made Kai become serious. He looked up at Lin.
"Did you hit Jay?!" Kai yelled out. Ryder rushed up to Kai and took Jay from him. Jay held onto Ryder tightly.
   The screaming got Alpha and Trevor's attention. They both ran up and looked at what was going down. Ryder looked over at Alpha.
Alpha ran up to Jay and looked at his face. He directly looked over to Lin Jane.
"He started crying. Boys don't cry." Lin Jane said strictly. Kai grew an angered face.
Ryder handed Jay to Alpha and walked up to Kai quickly. Alpha started to try and calm down Jay. Trevor walked up to Ryder and Kai.
"And! He said your father was dead! Isn't that hurtful?!" Lin Jane yelled. Kai froze with confusion. Ryder, Trevor, and Alpha stared at Lin Jane like crazy.
"Quin! Come listen to what your son said!" Lin screamed out. Kai covered his mouth and walked backwards into Ryder. He turned around and hugged Ryder quickly. Ryder didn't hug back as of he was to shocked to try. Alpha, Trevor, and Jay stared at Lin now, like she was insane.
"L-Lin-" Trevor said. Lin Jane looked at Trevor.
"What do you want?" Lin Jane asked impolitely. Trevor felt threatened for a second then gulped nervously.
"Lin, Quin is dead." Trevor said. Lin Jane's eyes became evil. She walked up to him.
"HOW DARE YOU SPEAK OF MY HUSBAND AS A DEAD MAN!" Lin Jane screamed. Alpha quickly handed Jay to Ryder and stepped between Trevor and Lin Jane.
"Let's just calm down." Alpha said. Kai looked over at Ryder and Jay. He checked on Jay's face. His cheek had turned bruised and swollen. Lin Jane snickered and turned away. The other five watched Lin Jane walk off.
    A few minutes later, Alpha was fixing up Jay's face, making the swelling go away. Kai was watching from the door, biting his fingers worriedly. Ryder walked up from behind him and looked at him.
"Hey, don't worry." Ryder said, setting his hand on Kai's wrist. Kai looked at Ryder and pulled Ryder closer for comfort.
"Ry, I think my mom is going crazy." Kai said nervously. Ryder sighed and lifted up, kissing Kai on the lips. Kai looked at Ryder and sank into the kiss. Ryder pulled away and touched Kai's cheek.
"So, is Jay gonna go with us when we go back?" Ryder asked curiously. Kai looked at Ryder then looked over at Jay. He was giggling and being happy. Kai looked at Ryder.
"Yeah. I think it'd be better if he came and lived with us." Kai said. Ryder smiled then became shocked at what was behind Kai. Kai looked at Ryder then turned towards the direction he was looking. Then he saw Lin Jane staring at Kai in shock. Kai's eyes widened and froze.
"M-mother-" Kai trembled. Lin Jane glared down at Kai in a pissed off mood.
"You are gonna take my son away?" Lin asked meanly. Kai mumbled under his breathe worriedly. Ryder became nervous.

    Lin Jane rose her hand and quickly slapped Kai across the face.

Kai froze with shock.
Ryder gasped and covered his mouth quickly.
Alpha and Jay turned the direction of the loud slapping sound.
Lin Jane froze.
Ryder finally unfroze and quickly examined Kai's face.
"Are you ok?!" Ryder asked worriedly. Kai trembled nervously and moved his head towards Lin Jane.
    Lin Jane was staring at her hand that she used to hit Kai. Then she looked over to Kai.
"T-The Moonlight..." Lin Jane mumbled then fell.
