Gaara!!!!!!

I was skipping down the street taking in the peaceful feel of Konoha; children playing, birds chirping, Kankuro picking on small children... WAIT what!!! We're at the chunin exams already. Hmmm... What am I going to do about that? Huh, oh yeah I can worry about that later, now I want to go see what's going on. I suppressed my chakra and ran to the branch next to Sasuke. Apparently Gaara had the same idea because as I was leaning back to watch the show, I ran into something. I looked behind me and found legs. I followed the legs up and found the rest of a body. I was shocked to find that I was leaning on Gaara!! He seemed shocked to, as far as I could tell at least. He looked down at me at the same time I looked up to him and I saw his eyes widen slightly from his normal glare. This only lasted a second before he looked away, his facial expression going back to indifference. What surprised me though was the fact that he didn't do anything to move me. We stayed there, looking toward the others until Kankuro was defeated by a pebble and started threatening Sasuke.

Gaara stopped anything from happening just like he did in the anime. "Enough." Everyone jumped slightly at the sound of Gaara's cold, monotoned voice. Kankuro started stuttering, "G-g-Gaara i-it wasn't our fault, you see these brats start..." "Kankuro shut up, or I'll kill you" He looked down at me once more saying, " I apologize for any inconvenience my team has caused you." I smiled at him, "that's alright." As Gaara transported himself to the ground, my team was staring at me incredulously. Without my back rest I shifted so I was laying on my stomach, leaning on my arm. Gaara turned and started walking away with his siblings following him. Well, at least until Sakura yelled out, " wait, your sand shinobi aren't you! We may be allies but you can't come here without good reason. So state your reason and if its not good enough then..." Sakura tried to sound threatening and that was the last straw for me. I burst out laughing at the fact that Sakura though that she could do anything to them. My team gave me looks trying to figure out what I thought was so funny and the sand shinobi smirked. I was calming down from my laughing fit went the branch I was on broke. I didn't try to stop my descent but I did kick the branch while I was falling. My team started panicking just as I was caught. I looked down to see what I landed on and I saw sand. It slowly lowered me til I was standing next to Gaara. I watched the sand retreat back into the gourd before I gave Gaara a hug. He stiffened up at the contact but I just whispered thank you into his ear and skipped over to my team. Every one was staring at me in shock, again, and while I had their attention I answered everyone's questions. "Ok now listen up. Sakura, there allowed to be here, they came for the Chunin exams. Sasuke, the dude with the gourd's name is Gaara and he could easily kill you. Gaara, the dude with the hair shaped like a duck's butt is Sasuke." I gave a bow, " See ya guys I need to do some sword training." I started walking away when my team yelled after me, "But you don't have a sword!" I didn't turn around, I just yelled back as I continued walking, " SAYS YOU!!!" I was soon out of sight of them and on my way to the training grounds.

I got there at the same time as Zabuza, and pulled out the sword that is the same size as Zabuza's out. Then my training began. I was improving quickly and Zabuza was getting used to village life.

*** time skip to that night***

I had a hard day with training and I was supposed to be in bed, but I couldn't sleep. I climbed up onto the roof and started watching the stars. It was peaceful, even with the presence behind me. "Do you want to come and sit with me Gaara?" I heard footsteps and when I looked over Gaara was sitting next to me. We sat in silence until Gaara broke it. "You never said what your name was?"

"I didn't think that you would want to know my name."

"Well, what is it?"

"Kiara" I was getting tired so I leaned on Gaara's arm.

"Why aren't you afraid?"

I could hear the innocence and vulnerability behind this one simple question. I knew that my answer would actually effect him. I didn't know how to answer so I asked him what I wanted to know.

"Why do you think that I should be afraid of you?"

He answered so quietly that I almost missed it, " because I'm a monster." And then he disappeared.

I spoke to the air, "you're not a monster Gaara, you could never truly be a monster."

I was about to go inside when I felt another presence, someone from the Akatsuki. I turned to them and told them, "you're not allowed to kidnap me again yet. I'm entering in the Chunin exams and you're not stopping me."

I went back inside and was left to sleep in peace for the rest of the night.
