Jamal's POV

It's now August and school is starting back up in one month. Yeah, that's right. September is the month that we all go back to stressing over whether or not we will make it. Whether we make it through high school, college, working, anything you name it. This year is a bit more intense for me. I'm a senior this year, while Lyrik is a Junior. Lyrik and I have been doing very well. I'm thinking about asking her to be my girlfriend. I feel as if things are right where they should be, but then again, she might feel otherwise. I don't care, I'm going with my heart and gut here.

Later that night...

"Well hello there," Lyrik says opening the door as I enter her house. "Hey," I said kissing her cheek. I'm not really too comfortable right now, but I'm trying not to show it. We sat on the couch and relaxed for a little bit. Her mom was gone another business trip, so she had the house all to herself. The last time Lyrik had the house to herself, I didn't stay the night. I don't expect to, but I would like to. Would I like to smash?...yes, but its much more deeper than that with Lyrik. I don't want to excell to the next level until she feels she is ready.

As we walked through the house, I followed Lyrik into the kitchen. "What are you cooking?" I asked admiring the nice aroma. "Chicken and shrimp alfredo." "It smells delicious, and I'm sure it'll taste just as so." I said coming up behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist. "I would hope so." This girl is making me dinner. Mm mm mm.

Lyrik POV

After dinner, Jamal and I decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood. This place was beautiful at sunset. It was very quiet and peaceful. The winds weren't too high and the sky was clear. Not only was the scenery breath taking, but just being here with Jamal made it all the more perfect. We were hand in hand, but I know he had to feel my palms getting all sweaty. I wasn't nervous, but my sweaty hands said otherwise.

"Whatcha thinkin' about?" Jamal asked interrupting my thoughts. "Nothing, I'm just taking in the night." I said. "It is a beautiful one isn't it?" He asked. All I could do was nodd my head. "Not as beautiful as you though." Did he really? "That was so cheesy," we both busted out laughing, "but I like cheesy." I stared into his beautiful hazel eyes, and couldn't help but kiss him. I pressed my lips to his, and we kissed passionately.

After our little make out session, we headed back to my house to watch a couple of movies. I fell asleep on the third movie. I felt like I was moving in my sleep till I woke up to being put on my bed. "It's okay, I'm just about to head out and I'll talk to you in the morning. Get some rest beautiful." As he went to turn around for the door, I grabbed his arm, "Could you just stay for the night?" Did I really just ask that? He was hesitant, but kicked off his shoes and slid into my bed behind me. I pulled his arm over my side and we went into full spooning mode. Not long afterwards, I fell asleep.

The Next Morning...

I woke up feeling refreshed, but Jamal was no longer in the bed. He must've went home after I fell asleep. I guess I should head downstais and start my day.

Jamal POV

I got up this morning to make Lyrik some breakfast. She's not the only one who knows their way around the kitchen. As I placed Lyrik's plate on the table, she came down the stairs looking confused as ever. She had changed into some running shorts and a big t shirt. Her hair was up in a messy bun, but she has never looked so beautiful. "Good mornign beautiful." I said guiding her to her seat. "Oh gosh, I should go change I look terrible." She tried to leave, but I woldn't let her. "You look beautiful. Just go on ahead and eat." She sat down coovering her smile shyly. Once she started, she couldn't stop. "Is it good?" I teased. She looked at me and I could see she was a little embarrassed. She was chompin down on that french toast man.

I didn't get a chance to ask Lyrik to be my girlfriend, and I want to now. She might feel weird being in her pjs, but that's okay.

I got up from the table and went to her side to grab her hands to stand up."I wanted to tell you something last night, but things didn't go as planned." She looked at me with confusion. "These past couple months have been great. When I first met you, I thought you were the most stuck up person I knew. Getting to know you, you were like the total opposite. I feel like we share a deeper connetion than anyone I've met. No one really knew about my family other than Los and Rosie. For some reason, you make it easy to open up. You're beautiful, smart, caring, but stuborn as hell. My feelings for you are deeper than a hit it and quit it. I wanna be everything you need, Lyrik. " She looked away from me. I grabbed her chin. "I want you to be my girl." Her eyes started to water, and her answer was all in her face. "Answer me, ma." She nodded her head and I pulled her into a tight embrace. My heart was racing, but I don't care. I urged her to look up at me and kissed her lips. That was just to seal the deal. "So you know what this means right?" she looked confutsed. "I get to touch your booty now." I said gripping her ass in my hands. She started laughing and screaming. "Stop!" I let go and kissed her cheek. When I looked back into her eyes she was covering her mouth and in shock. "whats-" "Oh my ...morning breath" she said running upstairs to the bathroom.
