Jamal's POV
When Lyrik saw me in her living room, she rushed back upstairs. "I'll go get her," her mom says heading up the stairs.
I decided to look around since I was here. I headed for the mantle where I saw pictures of the family and other people. They had pictures of Lyrik winning medals of all sorts. Trophies surrounded the pictures as well. I didn't see the medals with her, so I figured she had them put up some place. Very soon I came across pictures Lyrik and Na-na. They were at birthday party, Cedar Point, the park, and etc.
Altogether there had a very nice home. Honestly, I never thought that I'd be here no time soon. Or even at all... It's funny because we couldn't stand each other before and yet I'm here. Well, she still can't stand me, but I'm hoping that will change over the course of the time we have today. See? I can be nice, I can have a somewhat soft spot.
After I got done looking at the pictures she came back down with her mom. She avoided eye contact with that was okay. "You two have fun, " her mom says. "I thought it was supposed to be me and you." Her mom started to chuckle. " I said we were goimg out. You're goin with Jamal and I'm gonna make some runs before work tonight."
She pushed us out the door and we headed for my car. When I pulled up to her house, there was a car parked in the driveway and one in the garage. The one in the driveway was a rage rover which I saw her mom get into. The pruple charger, must've been Lyrik's.
"You like music?" No answer.
"Are you gonna just stay quiet the rest of the time being?" Still no answer.
I turned on the radio and turned it up.
"Shawty gone toss that --"
"I'm sorry Ms. Jackson (ooh) I am foreal--"
"I keep my twisted grill, just to show them kids it's real
We ain't picture perfect but we worth the picture still
I got smart, I got rich, and I got girls still"Finally something good.
As I'm listening to J. Cole, I heard Lyrik, in and out, humming to TLC. I cracked a smile and then focused on the road .
30 minutes later...
We arrived to our destination. It was Skyzone. I got out and went to help Lyrik out of the car.
We walked in and the atmosphere just reeked of fun.
I turned towards Lyrik, " I know you probably don't wanna be around all these people, but you need a little fun." She still hasn't looked at me, but I expected that.
We got in line and I gave her money to go get us a locker for our stuff.
When I gave her the socks she looked at them and sat down. I sat down next to her and put the sticky socks on over my own.
She took her hair out of the bun-thingy and shook her head.
No lie...that was sexy. FRIENDS JAMAL! She put her curly hair in a ponytail and then put on her sock.
"You ready?" I asked as I grabbed her hand.
Lyrik's POV
Jamal had my hand and I felt a little uncomfortable. We went over to the Free Zone, where he did nothing but jump. He was right, I really didn't want to be here.
While he was jumping he made a ton of silly faces. I started to giggle and that's when he jumped off and came my direction. I got a little scared once he grabbed my hand dragging me to the trampolines. Once we got on, he started jumping while holding my hands. He got higher and higher. He landed so hard that I started jumping without even commanding myself to do so.
