'What an unexpected arrival.'

Empress Navier looked at the luminous box in front of her. It was a deep vermillion and closely reminded her of that mysterious being that approached her the night before. She couldn't help but smile as her face glowed in a light blush.  Her lady in waiting, Laura, noticed and started to tease.

"It seems like your majesty is very excited to open the box~"

As Navier closely inspected the box, she recognized a symbol of a sun; which was known to represent the 'Saiya' Empire. Her eyes widened in surprise.

'What does the Emperor of Saiya want with me?'

Navier slowly opened the box and was amazed at what she saw.

It was the most ethereal piece of jewelry she had ever seen. The gem was the size of a pebble, but it flowed a luminous crimson. Navier, as well as the other maids were entranced at it's aura. The empress subconsciously reached her hand out and held the ornament in her palms. She had seen many luxurious pieces of jewelry, but nothing could compare to what was in front of her. The piece in her hand buzzed with a warmth that made Navier tighten her grip on the jewelry. She then noticed a small note that was attached to the box.

'Greetings Empress of the Eastern Empire,
I, the Emperor of Saiya warmly accept your invitation to the forthcoming International Summit. The piece that lays in box is a memento of my gratitude and interest of our future endeavors. It would be my upmost pleasure if you wear it during the summit and maybe everyday to remind you of me. The ornament is a head piece meant for only the most special of beings. I promise that starting now you will never have to suffer alone. I sincerely wish that you feel beautiful in it my queen.'

Navier blushed at the intimate letter and tightly clutched the ornament. For some reason she felt at ease with the gem's presence and the writer of the letter.  It was the same presence she had felt before. Something in her gut told her that this was the same being she had met the night before. However, she was still cautious, she can't assume anything right now.

Laura smiled and placed Navier in front of the mirror, "Would you like me to put it on you your majesty?"

"Yes, thank you..."

After a couple seconds the duo gasped at the beauty. Laura had tears of joy and Navier couldn't help but smile in euphoria. Once the gem was on her head her mind cleared and she felt full of energy. All thoughts about the concubine and her husband ceased to exist. It was as if she had finally reunited with her other half.

She was finally her own person with thoughts and feelings and if Sovieshu didn't respect that then there is no point in pursuing his love. A single tear trailed down her cheek at this revelation.

For once she felt like she was enough.

Xiangli was meditating on a cliff when she felt a rush of wind and a presence behind her.

"Toya, what is your report?"

Toya landed on the grass and kneeled with one knee.

"My liege, your package has reached her highness."

Xiangli nodded and held a necklace that held the same vermillion shade. She watched as her aura was being absorbed into the crystal. She couldn't stop her smile as she beckoned Toya to come closer. As Toya sat down he noticed Xiangli holding the necklace and realized.

"親友, are you sure about this? She is from the Eastern Empire, and her husband might start a war."

Xiangli chuckled and bitterly remarked.

"They are married, but he has found another lover. You should know yourself that what those too have is not love anymore. I wish for her to be free."

"But what if she doesn't love you? You know well what the implications are when you use that type of magic."

Xiangli smiled and patted her advisor and best friends back.

"I have lived a full filling life, one that made me experience many things. Joy, Happiness, Excitement, Sadness, Hunger, Pain, Suffering, Anger, Vengence. There is a reason why so many Monarchs become tyrants....Its because they are all alone in their pedestals. They may have loyal followers-or many  backstabbers....They have no one to trust so they do things to stay in power and feel secure. But they always feel at edge, so they continue to do actions that cause the suffering and pain of others, whether it be their kingdom, friends, or family.  Sometimes they cause the pain of lovers.  I've learned that from my own experience in the royal court, if it weren't for you all I would've fell into that trap.  I have no regrets, and no plans. If I die I will leave this world knowing I left my people in good hands. However, I can't leave someone so pure and with so much potential be corrupted by that kingdom. I know I feel something special about her Toya—It's not a simple attraction but it's something much, much more."

Toya stared at her  with understanding and gripped her hand as she turned to face him.

"As your best friend, I think what you are doing is reckless and impulsive. But as your subordinate I must respect your decision. I trust you a lot 親友 so don't do anything stupid....please."

"I won't."
