Broken tree trunks, thorns and thistles, pebbles slipping from under their feet as all three of them run through the forest, the horrendously massive monster thumping his feet on the hard ground, coming closer and closer. The thrilling question is, will they manage to get rid of him?
The great scare is bound to come, when Elara thinks that her dress got stuck in the broken tree trunks or in some plant with thorns, but it was actually tangled between the beast's fingers. Luckily, he tripped in a tree root and fell, his massive weight shaking the ground. Five more minutes and they reach the spot where they were attacked a while ago. Silence. For a few seconds. Hyunjin talks in almost an unnoticeable quiet voice. "Let's set a trap! It's the only way we will get rid of him." Felix nods and grabs the wrist of one of the dead men on the ground. "Use this!" Elara grabs the other wrist and pulls him near a thick tree with Felix's help. "Hurry!" They feel their lungs burning and their heartbeat increasing second by second. Hyunjin grabs a bunch of long ivy threads and wraps them around the corpse while Felix throws the edges over the tree branches. Soon, footsteps resound closer and closer. Hyunjin cuts his palm with his dagger and drips some blood on the corpse. Not much, but enough to confuse the monster's senses. As they walk behind the trees they hear growls. The monster is near. All three of them hold their breath, trying to pay close attention to the beast. Felix's heart shrinks when he hears Hyunjin swearing creatively, but he tries to concentrate on his one job. Pull the threads when the monster is near the corpse. The rushed mechanism will make the thread tighten immediately on the beast's legs and even if it won't break his ankles, it will hold him back enough for them to kill him. Felix waits for the right moment. The monster is near. He stops and bends over the dead body. Now! Felix and Hyunjin pull the threads with such force they could stop a dozen of horses. The beast throws his hands left and right, but the ivy threads around his feet, forearms, chest and neck stop him from moving. He senses it. The more he tries to break free, the more the poisonous ivy tightens on his neck, creating a wound and slowly leading him into the Death Gates direction.
Mother nature watches with teary eyes as one of her children is caught in the clenching jaws of Death. She walks near the beast. A combination of air and magic, she herself an almighty force, she placed a phantomatic hand on the beast, calming him down and making him stop struggling.
All three of them get out of their hideouts and Felix can swear that he heard the monster saying something similar to 'no' while struggling to break free. He shakes his head. Maybe his brain is dizzy, his thoughts might be messed up and he isn't thinking clearly. Hyunjin drinks a flask full with water and then throws it on the ground, wiping his mouth. He points his dagger towards the beast. "You are dead!" Felix watches as the beast blinks slowly, as if something else was distracting him from the end that was coming closer and closer. Felix feels a ghostly touch on his right shoulder and a suave, windy whisper tickles his ears. "He was a human once! Spare him!" Goosebumps appear on his skin and his mouth gets dry, a taste like sand washing over his tongue. Hyunjin walks near the monster in a fast pace, getting ready to split its chest open. Felix talks, the words rolling out of his mouth involuntarily. "Don't touch a vital point! Let him live." Felix's deer eyes meet Hyunjin's, who scoffs. "Are you crazy?" Hyunjin spits on the ground and looks back at Felix, with murderer eyes. "This almost killed us and made me want to spit my lungs out of my ribcage. I'm killing him!" Hyunjin and Felix take a step at the same time, Felix standing near the beast, its fangs almost brushing his ears and Hyunjin stops in his place with his raised dagger, the tip now parallel to Felix's heart. Hyunjin opens his mouth, but when he is about to tell Felix to move away, Felix talks in a serious tone. "I said, let him live!" Hyunjin clenches his jaw and throws the dagger on the ground. "You want to become monster food?" He pushes Felix's shoulder, knowing damn exactly that the gesture causes pain, the unhealed wound parting slightly and making Felix hiss. "Then go on, brave!" Hyunjin looks at Felix with daring eyes, lifting his jaw in defiance.
