She froze at the door. Her eyes scanning from my topless body, down to my crotch, to my arms and back to my crotch. Her lips were slightly parted as though digesting the sight before her and damn that turned me on.

I cleared my throat taking her out of her little bubble. She looked down and started biting on her nails, embarrassed. How cute...

"You looking for something?" My voice came out rougher than intended. I cleared it again.
"I... sorry... I thought no one was in. I wanted to get my stuff" she stuttered.

She walked to the chair that I hadn't noticed had her outfit and toiletries. It looked like a white dress with the yellow traditional tsonga fabric (nceka).
She quickly grabbed her stuff.

"Vangama" her name rolled out of my tongue.
She turned towards me but didn't look at me.
"You look too smart to settle for sh*t you know. And I hope you realize that soon rather than later." I honestly tell her. Even if she doesn't end up with me at least she should break up with Amu.

She nods and walks out.
I continue with my ironing, get dressed in my black jeans, black sneakers and a white shirt that has the yellow nceka sown into it. I guess I'll be matching with Vangama. But everyone else will be matching too because the theme is white with the yellow nceka.

I go discard the water and come back to fix my hair. I'll just tie it, nothing hectic.

Ruth walks in, and as always my baby sis is beautiful. Her white and yellow short princess dress and yellow hills really suits her. She has a full face of makeup that just brings out her beautiful face especially because she's bald now. She reminds me of mom.

"Boti's princess. Wakanaka (you're beautiful) shem" I say hugging her.
"Ndinozviziva (I know)" she responds laughing.
"munondiyeuchidza amai (you remind me of mom)" I tell her and she smiles.

She then insists on doing my hair since apparently just tying it won't make me handsome enough. She braids them into 2 lines and I must say she has done me justice.

We go out together hand in hand. This right here is my princess whom I'd move mountains for.

The event hasn't started so I just sit down while on my phone while Ruth says she's going to see Vangama. Amu is already outside with the other guys.

About 30 minutes later she texts me.
"Look at the veranda of the main house"
I look but I don't see anything. The main house is the one Amu's room is at but I don't see anything.
Seconds later I see Ruth walk out and behind her is a goddess.
A goddess in a body hugging one sleeve dress that she has accessorized with the yellow nceka. She is wearing black heels that she's walking ever so gracefully in.
Her afro is styled into a puff (don't laugh i know these hairstyles. Ruth made sure I know). She also had some diamond like accessories on her hair to give it that extra oomph.
She is holding a small black clutch.
This girl has to be mine, come hell or high water.

They come to where I am. As they approach I notice that even Vangama has put on makeup today. But unlike Ruth hers is more natural and suits her so perfectly.

Ruth sits next to me and Vangama sits next to Ruth.
"Wakanaka (you're beautiful)" I say to Vangama who was talking to Ruth.
"That means 'you're beautiful' right?" She asks Ruth smiling. Her smile is so beautiful, especially when she reveals her pearly white teeth.
"Yes, I said you're beautiful." I tell her before Ruth could answer.
"Thanks" she responds while blushing like hell.
We gotta do something about this shyness of yours my angel.

The event starts and Amu comes and sits next to her so I can't really have conversations with her. I was sitting at the last seat so besides Ruth, no one could seat next to me.

Xiluva and Tinyiko were sitting behind me. Xiluva would occasionally bring her feet to touch me but I'd try my best to dodge it.

The wedding went by very perfectly. Seeing Khanyisa get married made me wonder when I'd get married. I was almost 29 but I was single and no kid.

Steve as the eldest amongst us at least had 3 kids at 30 and traditionally he is married because he has paid lobola for his baby mama. She just has not moved this side because they say they're waiting for the white wedding.
I am the second oldest.
Gift is 27 with 2 kids from different baby mama's.
Tinyiko is 26 with 2 kids. She was married but came back. Story for another day.
Musa is 25 with 1 kid.
Amu is 24 with 2 kids.
Khanyisa is 23 and has no kid and she's now married.
I won't count Ruth, she's still a baby.

...

The actual formal event was now over and people were now dancing and giving gifts to the newly wedded couple.
I saw Amu's baby mama walk in with her kids. I can already sense trouble.

She walks towards my aunt, Amu's mom and greets her. The lady seems happy to see her as always. Wasn't she being all friendly and nice to Vangama? I'm not saying she should be rude to the mother of her grandkids but...

I nudge Ruth and tell her to go with Vangama to my room since Amu was not in sight. I wanted Amu to see his baby mama first and decide what to do before involving Vangama.
Usually when he comes back the baby mama visits and they act like a couple  so what was going to happen now?

Ruth whispered something to Vangama and they got up to go to my room.
Amu's mom, his baby mama and the kids went to the main house.
This boy better handle his sh*t and not hurt Vangama because I'll crush his skull.

"Baby you look tense, what's wrong?" Xiluva asks touching my arm.
I shoot her a cold stare. She goes back to her seat. Good thing she got the message that I'm not in the mood for her.

After some time Steve comes and sits next to me.
"Bro, you're lucky you got no kids. Baby mama drama ain't no child's play." He says laughing.
"You're baby mama doesn't seem to have drama though, except that she doesn't like coming here but I totally understand her." I respond.
He laughs and says "I'm not talking about me. I've got a phenomenal woman. I'm talking about Amu's baby mama. That girl looks like a saint but she's sycho"
I shoot him a questioning look.
"You saw her here right? Well Aunty had called me to Amu's  room, apparently both Amu and his mom told her that Vangama will be her katikuloni (co wife). Just imagine. A 23 year old settling for that. She says she came here to see Vangama. Meanwhile I thought Aunty loved Vangama" he continues

Hell no! If there's one thing I won't allow is for that angel to be made second best. On top of cheating on her while they're at school now he wants her to share him? This boy is crazy.

I excuse myself from Steve and go to my room. I find my room turned into a photoshoot studio. I won't complain because the sight is beautiful.

"Boti get in the picture" Ruth says pointing me towards Vangama.
You don't have to ask me twice.
I go over to her and we start taking pictures.  She was a bit hesitant and shy at first but then became comfortable. Having her by my side felt so right.

I noticed that even with heels she is only up to my shoulder high. Hugs and cuddles with her will surely be magical.

I then took pictures of the two girls, then Vangama took pictures of me and Ruth. Then someone knocked on the door.

"Enter" I answered.
Amu entered looking like he's carrying the world on his shoulders.
"Babe, mom is looking for you" he told Vangama.
She went out with him.

I looked at her as she closed the door. My eyes remained at the door as though she'd open it and say "I chose to stay here with you"
But then, she doesn't even know how I feel.

I went to sit on my bed. My elbows on my thighs, face cast down on my palms. It hurts that I know Vangama's heart is surely going to get broken, and she may decide to still stick with him.
I furiously move my hand across my head.

Ruth wraps her arms around me and massages my back without saying anything.

"Ndinomudai (I love her)" I confess out loud.
