Part 25,5

Back at the hospital immediately when Nathaniel left the room Xiluva's aunt starts pacing up and down in frustration.
"You're making me dizzy, please stop" Xiluva begged her aunt.
"You see what you have done Xiluva? I told you it would backfire" the aunt said now standing next to her.

"How would I have known it would be Mohammed's child? We only slept together once unprotected. The other times we used a condom" Xiluva tried explaining herself.
"It takes once to make a child girly. Now people will think I was with you in this. Ntlaa" the aunt seethed.

"You act as though you didn't approve of my plan." Xiluva complained.
"The plan was to pin Amu's baby on Nathaniel since they are the same blood. The child would still be with its real family either way. Not what happened here." The aunt reminded her.

Xiluva huffed.
"Well we can't cry over spilled milk now can we? Tell me what do we do now?" Xiluva asked her aunt.
"Let me think... if only you succeeded with the abortion we wouldn't be in this mess" the aunt complained.

"If you don't have a plan please leave, I need space to think" Xiluva dismissed her aunt.
"If it wasn't for the fact that you're my sister's daughter i wouldhave long given up on you. She should come back and deal with things herself" the aunt commented
"Well it's not like the apple fell far from the tree, did it" Xiluva mocked.

The aunt left her and found Tinyiko in the waiting area.
"Aunty what happened? Did Nathaniel figure out it's not his baby dye to the early birth? I thought you said you'd convince him it's just a rare occurrence." Xiluva bombarded her.

"That would have been easier had your friend not given birth to Mohammed junior." She sighed seating down.
"What do you mean?" Xiluva questioned.

"Your reckless friend wasn't pregnant with Amu's baby like we thought. It is Mohammed's child."

"Which Mohammed?... You mean Mohammed Mohammed?" Xiluva asked and the aunt nodded.
"So the rumors were true. And she kept it from me! She lied to me so I could help her trap my own brother?" She almost shouted.

She stood up.
"You know I did all this because I thought I was keeping my niece or nephew in the family without risking Amu's relationship with his baby mama because that girl has been through the most. I was just trying to help a friend not knowing I was made the fool. Ntlaa"

"She also thought it's Amu's baby. Don't be mad at her." The aunt begged.
"You know, Amu's mom and some other people told me that she was messing around with Mohammed but I defended her. I even hid it from Amu and his mom that the baby was potentially his. Now I'm the fool." She complained.

Immediately when the sun rises the following day around 4:30 since it's Summer Tinyiko goes home. She gets a lift and by 5am she's home. She finds Amu's mom already up, sweeping.

"Morning aunty" she greets her.
"Morning, you're back really early. Is everything alright?" Amu's mom asks.
"Yah" Tinyiko answers trying to avoid more questions.
"How is the baby? I'm sure Nathaniel is happy." Amu's mom says.
"Uhmm, yah" she then tries to walk away.

"Tinyiko! Come here" Amu's mom commands.
"What's wrong? And don't tell me it's nothing I am not a baby." Amu's mom continues.
Tinyiko scratches her head contemplating whether or not she should tell her. She didn't want to lie to her aunt especially after Xiluva hid information from her so she settled for a half truth.

"Uhmm, seems like it's not Nathaniel's baby. You were right about her and Mohammed." She blurted out.
Amu's mom dropped the broom to the ground and dramatically clapped her hands.

"Wonders shall never end! I said it, didn't I? So she wanted to pin Mohammed's child on Nathaniel? Yhuu, kids of these days." She exclaimed.

"I'm going to rest mina." Tinyiko said walking away.
"Wait! So does Nathaniel know?" She asked.

Amu's mom's phone Immediately rang. She checked the screen and it was Nathaniel's dad.

Amu's mom: "Svara"
Nath's dad: "Hello svara, how are you?"
Amu's mom: "I'm good and you?"
Nath's dad: "I'm well. Sorry for calling this early. I have some few questions to ask."
Amu's mom: "Alright"
Nath's dad: "That girl who is pregnant for Nathaniel, Tinyiko's friend you know her well right?"
Amu's mom: "Well, yes."
Nath's dad: "I wanted to come see her family today but when I called her aunt she kept dodging me saying they're busy today. So I was wondering if you can give me numbers of another elder in the family"
Amu's mom: "why do you want to see them?
Nath's dad: "There are questions with regards to the child's paternity so I wanted to clear everything before I went back to Harare."
Amu's mom: "well I don't have her mom's number but I did have suspicions like everyone here in the village that she was dating some India guy who owns a spazashop here, and Tinyiko has just confirmed that he is the father."
Nath's dad: "oh okay, Nathaniel did say that the baby was surely Indian. If you do get her mother's number please do send it."
Amu's mom: "okay svara"
Nath's dad: "bye"
Hangs up...

I don't like writing in 3rd person hence this chapter is short and weird. I just wrote it to fill in the blanks...
