"Soundproof your room"

Dad though.

I immediately saw Vangama get all shy and flustered. I knew that the fact that my dad and uncles heard us would be uncomfortable for her.

"Baba you're making my wife shy"
I laughed and my father and uncles joined me.

"You'll pay lobola with areas boy"
My eldest uncle said.

"I don't mind paying double what they want. She's worth it"
I winked towards her and the laughter increased.

Vangama looked like she was begging the earth to swallow her. Even with her darker skin I could see the redness on her face.

"You're making my daughter uncomfortable. Go make food for her"
Dad came to her rescue.

"Yes, whatever exercise they were doing must have drained them"
My youngest uncle said and laughter erupted again. These men.

I dragged my angel to the kitchen.

"I hate you"
She whispered trying to pull her best angry face by pouting. She looked so cute.

"I love you too baby"
I pecked her lips.

"You're irritating"
She complained

"And you're adorable"

"Mxm"
She hit me on the arm and we both laughed

We dished up and ate in the kitchen because someone was shy to go back to the dining room.

"I can't wait to go home and prepare for the lobola negotiations"
She said happily

"I will miss you"
I sulked

"You're such a big baby"

"Well I am your baby. Unless you want a Nathan jnr playing in here"
I touched her stomach

"In your dreams"
She hit my hand.

Vangama went back to Polokwane yesterday. Dad and my uncles went back the day before so I am left alone.

I miss her so bad that my heart physically hurts. I've been restraining myself from driving to Polokwane to be with her. It is worse than any other time I have been away from her.

It doesn't help that in general my emotions have been all over the place. Hence after a few months of not seeing my therapist I'm on my way to see her now.

"Mr Moyo, glad to see you again"
My therapist smiled, she was sitting on those sofa chairs of theirs and she pointed me to the usual chair opposite her.

"I hoped I wouldn't have to come back here"
I honestly confesed

"I understand. So how have you been?"

"Honestly things have been great in all aspects. Vangama and I are now engaged. What brings me here is actually funny"
I laughed a bit

"I'm listening"
She brought out her notepad

"Whenever Vangama is away I miss her to such an excessive degree. Like now, she only left late yesterday but it's like I can't function properly. I hate to admit it but I've become needy... plus my emotions are all over the place. Just the other day I was angry at Vangama and even accused her of not wanting to marry me just because she suggested we postpone the wedding. Am I crazy?"

She scanned me then wrote something down.

"Have you experienced anything weird physically?"

Come to think of it.

"There's this stupid headache that doesn't want to go away. My waist used to act up the last month but recently I'm fine. Other than that and the fact that I had to stop eating cheese because the smell is horrible. I'm fine."

She nodded while finishing writing

"So what about Vangama. Anything odd with her?"

"Not that I know of. She is perfect. She is even glowing a lot now."
I smiled thinking about how happy my angel always is these days.

"Do you guys use any type of contraceptives?"

"What does that have to do with the fact that I'm obsessed with her doc? But if you must know, I pull out when she is ovulating. If not we just flow"
I smirked and the doc smiled at me.

"So how do you keep track of Vangama's ovulation?"

"There's that app that you women use right? She also put it on my phone and updates it whenever she has her period."

"Can you check it for me"

This woman can't be thinking Vangama is pregnant, can she? Besides, it's not in her job description but I'll just go with her flow.

If that was the case that Vangama is pregnant she would be the one with these symptoms not me.

I checked the app just to prove her wrong so we can move on from this and carry on with our normal sessions.

23 days late!

Vangama hasn't updated the app in close to a month. Maybe she forgot and has been using hers to keep track.

"And...?"
Doc enquired

"I think she has been updating hers and forgot this one. It's only 23 days late"
I tried convincing myself more than her. I was ready to have a kid. Heck, I wanted a kid but I knew Vangama didn't want one yet. If she was pregnant she was going to kill me. I won't mention anything till after the lobola negotiations.

"What you are experiencing may be symptoms of pregnancy. In rare cases it is the father who experiences the mood swings and nausea. But we can't be certain, you will have to talk to Vangama about it."

...

"Guess who is home!"
Ruth shouted as she entered the house.

"Boti's favorite princess"
I hugged her

"I missed you"

"I missed you too princess"

It had been 2 months since she came back. Even after almost a year of her being in varsity I still failed to accept that she has now grown into her own woman. Being a big brother is hard when they are nolonger little sisters anymore.

"Did you cook?"

"Of course, let's go feed you"
I led the way to the kitchen.

"Creamy pasta without cheese? New recipe or what?"
She asked when I opened the pot.

"I can't stand the smell of cheese, makes me nauseous. But I added chicken breasts for taste"
I told her

"Okay, I trust your chef skills"
She laughed

We ate together while catching up. She told me about a new Venda friend she made in class.

Luckily I trusted her to be smart enough to not be played by these stupid varsity boys. My sister never let any of the boys she dated control her. She thought I didn't know about any of her boyfriends but I wouldn't be a good big brother if that was the case.

Vangi: "I'm scared Nathan, I really am"
Me: "I understand angel but all will be fine"
I tried convincing her

Vangi: "what if they don't agree at the end? What then?"
Me: "then I'll come take my wife and elope with her, easy like that"
I joked, but I was a bit serious. If my uncles and her family don't agree I'll just go claim my wife. There's nothing and no one who will stop me from making her my wife.

Vangi: "Nathan! Be serious"
She groaned
Me: "Don't worry babe, my uncles got the brief, they agree to everything your family demands"
Vangi: "okay if that's the case"
Me: "I can't wait for you to officially become mine tomorrow"
Vangi: "me too hey, so we're really doing this?"
Me: "yes angel"
Vangi: "I love you"
Me: "I love you more angel"

So this dream of marrying the girl I love was really coming true. Somebody pinch me because God really blessed me here.

Tomorrow the uncles are going to fetch me my bride.
