Ango told Odasaku to lead Y/n to her new room, seeing as they lived on the same floor. The two of them walked quietly down the dirty hall, trying to avoid inhaling the stench of the underfunded living quarters for the Port Mafia's underappreciated members. They stepped in silence, but everytime Y/n stepped, something rang, like the soft ringing of a bell.

She broke the silence, "Are pets allowed?"
"Hmm?" He raised his eyebrows and looked at her from the corner of his eye.

"I have a cat named Tama." She supplied. "Or, well, he's not exactly mine. He's just a stray that seems to like me a lot."

"Where is he?" Odasaku wondered.

She said, "I didn't bring him. I just want to make sure he's welcome if he decides to visit me."

"I guess no one cares enough to put an official rule, but yeah, they're allowed." He stopped in front of a door with its white paint peeling off. "Here's your room."

He opened the door for her. "Here's the key," He held it out for her to grab, but instead, she crossed right over to the window. She inspected it for a second, then found a nail above the window to hang her furin bell on.

"Huh? Where's the new lady?" Elise asked as she spun frilly circles around Ango, Dazai and Odasaku, who stood in a line.

The boss laughed lovingly, "She's not here right now, Elise-chan," He moved his gaze from out of the ocean to watch the little girl. He put his cup of tea down.

She stopped to pout at him. "You're so insensitive, Rintarou! You know I've been so excited to meet her!" She stomped her feet, heels scuffing the floor.

The boss nearly lept out of his chair. "Elise-chan!" He cried. "You'll ruin your beautiful shoes!"

Dazai closed his eyes and folded his arms irritatedly. "Can we get on with it?"

The older man looked at him with a mildly surprised look and sat down, but then smiled his snake-like grin to himself. To Dazai. To Ango and Odasaku. "Of course, Dazai-kun." He laced his pure-white, blood-red gloved fingers. "You seem rather annoyed. Anything going on?"

He opened his eyes a sliver. "Trying to change the subject you wanted to talk about?"

The boss looked back over the ocean. "I just wanted to check in on my favorite member."

Ango and Odasaku looked at each other from across Dazai.

"Ango-kun," The boss looked at him, his eyes like venomous needles. "I want you to take Y/n-chan and introduce her to the Port Mafia. Take her sightseeing. Have her meet some people. Show her what we're all about."

Ango bowed stiffly. "Of course." And left.

"You two," The boss continued, "Go finish the job Akutagawa-kun left unfinished."

Dazai shook his head and let out an annoyed sigh. "That prideful brat can't do anything right. Right, Oda-kun?"

He answered numbly, "Yeah,"

"Leave it to us, boss," Dazai bowed. Odasaku followed.

"That Chinese restaurant was nice," Odasaku said to Dazai, helplessly trying to initiate a conversation as the two walked beside the rancid stream of sewer water that ran by.

"Curse that useless Akutagawa," Dazai said instead. "Letting the prey get away and making us go into this sewer system just to flush them out completely. Right, Oda-kun?"

Odasaku felt something, some foolish thing that compelled him to say something against Dazai. "He's still really young. He's still learning."

Dazai let out a cynical laugh. "He chose now to start learning?"
