He leaned forward getting closer and closer, "good" he simply said, smirking as he walked back over to his chair and sat down. "Bring your chair over" he said and I grabbed a chair and dragged it over to beside him, I sat down and felt as small as ever, it felt as if his large frame towered over me. "S-so" I said looking at the maths book on the table.
"Hadley" he sighed. I looked up to him and he rested his head on one of his hands, "what's wrong, you seem out of it. Are you uncomfortable or something" he asked and I looked up feeling guilty. He wasn't doing anything but I'm making him feel guilty because I think he's trying something which he's not because he's a teacher- and I'm overthinking.
"I'm fine, sorry" I said and he looks at me with hopeful eyes, "so we're good yeah?" he asked and I lift an eyebrow. "Mr. Hemmings, I'm your student, we're not meant to be 'good' we're not meant to be friends" I said and he nodded. "I know Hadley but there's nothing wrong with getting along well" he said and I nodded agreeing but I didn't.
I wanted to be able to talk to him and chill but he had to pick the dumb àss teaching career. "How old are you Luke" I asked and he didn't look the way I expected him to look. He looked like he understood. "I'll be twenty two this summer" he said and looked back at the book. "Constructions" he said and I wailed.
"Why! I hate them" I groan and he chuckles throwing an arm around me and jerking my shoulder up and down, "you've got this" he laughed, I laughed to and felt comfortable for once in his presence.
---"Hadley" he whined, "you have to put the pencil in the god damn compass" he instructed. I picked up the semi circle ruler and shoved it in his face "does it look like a pencil will fit in here" I nearly yell frustrated. "The other compass" he said in the same tone. "Why did they call them both compasses did they run out of words" I shout.
He wraps a hand around my wrist lowering it from his face, "maybe they did. But I'm talking about the compass you use to draw a circle okay" he said and I chuckle in a tired tone. "It's been half an hour. We have another hour and a half to go through, I really don't want to" I tell him, very fed up.
"Just forget it Mr. Hemmings, I don't want to be tutored in detention, I want to sleep" I say standing up and began packing my bag. "Hadley," his voice hard, he put a hand on my wrist again to stop it from putting my things away. "You know this isn't your choice." his voice stern. "Luke" I nearly yell frustrated.
"It's not yours either" I say wriggling my hand away only for it to be clasped in his grip again. He stood up, nearly pressing our bodies together. I tried to stumble backwards but I just hit his desk. He seems to be making more physical contact with me, why? I seen his throat gulp, I copied his actions.
"What else can I do Mr. Hemmings" I ask, I've only had two boyfriends, how the f*ck do I plan on doing this. Wait. WHAT AM I EVEN DOING.
"You can't do anything..." his voice faded as I took a step closer to him, "anything" I plead. "At all." I finish he gulps again, lost for words. "I think we can finish up for today" he said backing away and grabbing his bag, he went to put the book in his bag but dropped it. "I'll just- leave it" he said but went back to pick it up but dropped it again and left the classroom.
I can't believe what I just did. I got my book and sighed, I should get his to and give it to him tomorrow or something. I left the building and seen a maths sheet on the ground I picked it up and found another. I wasn't in the humour to laugh at his state because I'm as shocked as him.
I picked that up and shoved them in my bag, I turn the corner and see him sitting in his car, his head on the steering wheel. He looked like a wreck. Did I seriously try to do that. I'm ashamed of myself, I usually do things and don't care but this. I'm scared, I never thought I'd try something like that. I'm glad he declined.
Or am I?

I was lying on my bed talking to Elouise over the phone. I was so glad it was Friday. "Thank the Lord!" I say and Elouise stopped talking, "what? were you even listening to my story? Hadley! Matt rejected his dream girl because he couldn't focus on what she was saying! Hadley this is the funniest thing ever and you're praising the Lord! Wait, was it about the story?" she droned on.
"Gotta go bye" I said hanging up and sighing ready to sleep. "Haddles!" my dad called and I groaned. "Paps" I said getting out of bed and going downstairs. "Local coffee shop, four regulars and one for yourself?" he smiled like an angel holding out a ten dollar bill. "Double and change?" I ask and he nods in agreement. Score, I just got myself $13. I ran up and changed into grey tracksuit pants and a white vest top. I threw my MCR jumper on and grabbed UGG boots before leaving the house.
I walked to the coffee shop ten minutes down the road and entered. "Oi!" Calum said behind the cash register. "Oi matey!" I salute and began laughing as I made my way over to him. "What can I get you rooster" he used the nickname for me when it was summer and I got burnt so bad when I fell asleep. I scowl before he laughs and I chuckle, "the usual" I say and he nods beginning to make the coffee's.
"Cal! Come here look what he just sent me" someone called from across the café. I noticed that voice and froze. "One minute I'm just dealing with a customer" Calum said.
The person whined "Calum".
Calum repeated their actions, "Luke".
