Nanami's Final Moments With You.

Jujutsu sorcerers were shit. This was something that Nanami had told you over and over again. However, he would quickly retract his statement when you reminded him of your high rank. "Well, not all of them are shit." He would quickly correct himself, making your smile. You didn't mind though, it's not like you disagreed with him. You two always planned on leaving behind this life as soon as you could.

You spent countless nights dreaming of where you would go. Then, in the morning you would theorize with Nanami on what place was best for you. It didn't help that you were wishy-washy, but Nanami would remain patient and entertain whatever location you decided on for the week.

When you two finally got together, it no longer became only your dream that you were focused on, but his too.

"Oh! Kento, look! You wanted to be by the sea and read books, didn't you? And I couldn't entirely rid myself of the amenities of the city, so I was thinking; what if we retire to Malaysia?" You looked at him with a proud smile, showing off the pictures from your laptop.

"Malaysia?" He inquired, wrapping his arms around your neck as he leaned down to look at your laptop.

"Do you not like it?" You turned to him, your entire expression fell.

"I love it. Anywhere as long as I'm with you." He kissed your forehead.

Nanami was down the train platform in Shibuya station, far away from you. He could see you still, but you were so far out of his reach. He only had one thought in his mind, 'I have to take (y/n) to Malaysia.' You were fighting a curse with your shikigami, and absolutely decimating it.

You glanced to your left, looking for the man you loved to make sure he was still okay. You didn't doubt his abilities one bit, but you still needed that reassurance. When you saw your lover being touched by the cursed spirit, Mahito, your heart dropped. Everything felt far away and your legs carried you as quickly as they could. They hardly felt like they were moving though. Your mouth moved but you weren't sure if you were yelling or not, your hearing had given up. Nanami looked towards you with a pained smile.

You didn't make it in time.

You rushed to the floor by your lover's side-- what was left of it.

"Kento! Please, hold on!" You cried, looking at him, unsure what you could do.

"I'm sorry, (y/n)." His eyes fluttered slightly.

"No, you're gonna be fine. I just need... I need..." You shook your head, not knowing what you needed.

"I'm sorry but I can't take you to Malaysia." He said tiredly.

"You have to! We're going to go sit on the beach and read. We're going to read so many books that they're going to have to import more for you and me. We're going to get so sunburnt on the beach that it will hurt to put clothes on. We're gonna leave this shitty jujutsu life and were going to spend every moment together." You spoke, your voice was shaky and cracking.

Your throat hurt so much that speaking was painful. The tears stung as though they were poison on your cheeks. Most importantly, you couldn't feel your fingers. When he didn't answer you, it was your chest that hurt.

"You promised! You promised me we would leave this life behind us but this isn't what I wanted! Please don't go!" You wailed before a pained scream escaped your lips.

"We'll find each other again." His words were barely above a whisper but you heard them as though they were yelled into a megaphone.

When you looked at his face, it was void of any expression and his eyes were dull. You had never seen death, not even on someone you loved. Maybe you had imagined him saying those words, but your heart knew this was false.

"You were right, jujutsu sorcerers are shit." You whimpered.
