Getting Ready

JJ wakes up to hearing you guys daughter Emma, crying in her room. She's only 5 and is the spitting image of JJ. He clicks off your phone alarm to let you sleep in.

Normally you'd get her ready in the morning and he'd bring her to school before work. The blonde wanders into her room. "what's wrong my love?" He sits on her bed and holds her closely. "I had a bad dream" she whimpers.

He kisses the top of her head "it's ok I've got ya, it was just a dream princess" he smiles. She sniffles, wiping her tears away. "how about daddy gets you ready today, yeah?" he asks.

Emma giggles "ya!" the little girl beams. He nods with a smile "ok let's go make some breakfast, put the clothes on mommy set out while I get the stuff out" he tells her.

With a nod and a smile she hops out of bed to go change while JJ gets all the stuff out. Having a kid at a young age helped him mature a lot. You guys where only 17 when she was born.

A couple minutes later she's dressed and they're making some toast and cereal. Once they're done they sit at the table together to eat. "daddy your getting gray hair" she snickers. "no I'm not! You spend to much time with your mother" he defends himself.

Once they're done he lets her watch cartoons for a little bit while he cleaned up and got ready for work. "ok princess we gotta do your hair because we're leaving in 30 minutes" he tells the girl.

Emma clearly didn't want to go to school because that one sentence led to a breakdown. "I wanna stay home" she sobs into him. This was one of the things where you really just had to say "tough love kid" and push through it but JJ hated that.

He hated watching his little girl sob over something. He sits the crying girl on a chair in front of the bathroom mirror and begins brushing her hair. "I know you don't want to go but you have to go to school so you can be super smart" he explains "I never liked school either and that's ok but you have to go"

Maybe this conversation was hypocritical of him considering the amount of school he skipped. "repeat after me, ok?" she nods.

"I can do this"

She begins to calm down so he wipes away her tears away and kisses her cheek.

"I am beautiful"

"I am beautiful"

Little did the two know you'd been watching them, it made you happy watching him take care of her like this.

"I am brave"

"I am brave"

That's when they noticed your giggle. JJ blushes slightly in embarrassment while tying off her hair in a high pony tail. You smile and kiss JJ before saying good morning to Emma.

JJ tells her to go get her shoes on and she runs off leaving you two alone. "why didn't you wake me up?" you stick out your bottom lip.

"you deserve a day to sleep in, besides I was already awake" he tucks a piece of hair behind your ear.

"I love you JJ Maybank"

"I love you more y/n Maybank"
