"Why the hell are they dripping wet?" Shigaraki growled as he noticed the two soaked girls dripping water on the floor of the bar.
Kurogiri acted quickly to get them towels to dry off so they wouldn't catch a chill. "Now, now Tomura Shigaraki." He chided him in that placating voice of his, "it just looks like they were out having some fun at the beach."
"Why is she here anyway?" Shigaraki glowered at the girl with the pure white eyes and the shoulder length teal hair with two large strips of white framing her face.
"She's my cute little assistant, I never leave home without her." Giran joked. He was a smooth talker and used to dealing with hostile and unsavory clients.
Shigaraki frowned at the obvious lie but didn't press the issue further. He turned his attention to Dabi and Toga. "I've thought about it, and I guess I'll let you two join. Kurogiri can find you some rooms."
Cora grew uneasy. Toga and Dabi would be staying here. What did that mean for her? Giran noticed her unease and frowned as he worked out a solution. Kurogiri handed him a bag full of cash for his finders fee. He hesitated.
"Perhaps we could alter the deal a little." Giran looked at Shigaraki.
Shigaraki shot him a scowl, "you said a finders fee in cash."
"You see, my cute little assistant could use a place to stay, how about I waive the finder's fee this once if you let her stay here?" Giran smiled suavely.
Shigaraki glared, "that hardly seems like it's worth the trouble, it's an extra mouth to fee-."
Giran smoothly cut him off, "she's also good at reigning these two in." He indicated Dabi and Toga, "they can be a handful, but they listen to her."
Toga concealed a wicked smile as she realized Shigaraki was considering it. She hadn't wanted to be separated from Cora so soon. She'd never had a friend before, no one had ever called her 'Himiko-chan' and it sounded perfectly sweet and endearing whenever Cora said it.
"Fine, but if she becomes annoying or gets in the way she's out." Shigaraki growled.
Giran nodded and gently placed a hand on Cora's shoulder. "I'll need your help with something later and after I'll stop by with your things."
Cora nodded. "Thanks Giran. For everything." She smiled and gave him a hug catching him off guard.
Giran smiled fondly and gently pat her on the back as he accepted her hug, not minding that she was still soaking wet, "you're a good kid. Don't let them push you around." He murmured the last part so only she could hear.
"I'll be okay." She reassured him.
Giran glanced in Dabi's direction and noticed the young man was currently glaring at him, ready to step in if Cora looked uncomfortable, "I know you will be." He chuckled softly, "I'll be in touch." he said as a way of farewell to the others before taking his leave.
Cora nervously gripped the towel Kurogiri had given her, hugging it tighter around her as she started to feel chilled. From her viewpoint above, she could see Shigaraki watching her intently and noticed Dabi glaring intently at him. Toga looped her arm through Cora's and grinned upward so Cora could see.
Shigaraki sighed, "Kurogiri, show them to their rooms."
"As you wish." Kurogiri spoke in his calming voice before turning to the newcomers, "if you three will please follow me." He headed for a door behind the bar.
Toga steered Cora after Kurogiri. Dabi hesitated, throwing one last dark look at Shigaraki before following the girls. The door opened to a steep staircase which made Cora a little nervous. Toga tightened her grip on Cora's arm. "Don't worry, Cora-chan, I won't let you fall."
