This is set before Sky was kidnapped by Tenebris and Diamond ascended. Their parents are still alive. The kitsune attemped to raid Imperium Caeli
"valkyries , soar!" I commanded. My mother taught me how to instinctually demand obedience, and I now understood the importance of her teachings. All the valkyries took to the skies immediately. My mother seemed to understand what i was doing, even though i was acting out of pure grief, instincts, revenge.I looked at Goldie and unleashed my powers, killing every kitsune they touched. A circle of death formed around me as I poured my grief into annihilating the race that had killed my aunt. It mattered not to me that it was a mere fraction of the kitsune, not even close to all of them. Using my powers like that hurt, but nowhere near as much as the pain inside.
The kitsune screamed as hell broke loose, but they didn't make it very far. I killed them all and called back the magic, before dropping on my knees in exhaustion. My sight blurred and the last thing i saw before blacking out was my mother's worried gaze.

I awoke with a start and sat up straight. I looked around and saw that I was in my palace, but it was empty save for one figure standing on the balcony.
No. Something wasn't right. The only door was the open one to the balcony. I noticed the figure had familiar gold hair and shining eyes. "Auntie Gold?" I called hesitantly.
She snapped around and ran to embrace me. "Don't ever do that to me again" she cried into my shoulder.
"Where are we?" I asked her.
"Stuck in the place between life and death. I'm going to be here until you bring me back, but you will go back, should you choose, as soon as your body is healthy again. To those on the surface you are in a coma." She gestured through the glass floor, through which our palace was visible, shining in the twilight.
"But I don't know how to... I can barely control my powers. How can I-?" I cut myself off, not wanting to finish.
"You will learn. I did. Took a few tries but I got there, and I wasn't nearly half as skilled as you. For now, let's just enjoy our time here. I know you must be feeling very guilty, but it was an accident. Don't blame yourself." Goldie was always so good at calming down a situation, and this was no different.
I nodded and walked out with her to the balcony. I stood against the wind, arms and wings outstretched, enjoying the wind. Goldie joined me, armour shining in the sunset. I made the sky light up gold and sky blue, representing us, telling those in the palace that we were safe.
Back in the floating island that was Imperium Caeli, the Valkyrie homeland, the queen watched with a smile at the dancing lights in the sky, knowing full well their purpose and understanding completely. The Queen smiled, unaware that she would be joining Sky and her sister very soon.
