Destiny

Chapter 3

We ran through the town center as the dragon crawled after us. I had this feeling that it was toying with us considering it could have fried us to a crisp by now. We continued to run and hid in the old church a little ways down from town hall. 

"Would you please run a wee bit faster!" I yelled to Ahsoka who was dragging slowly behind. "If you hadn't noticed there is a DRAGON chasing us!"

Well, I'm sorry. I never thought I'd would have to out run a monster  before or I would have stayed more in running shape, he snapped in my head. Now, are you sure it's dragon that's chasing us?

"Hmm I don't know. Let's see...Yep there's wings, horns, and giant tail... Oh and it breathes fucking fire!" I screeched at him. Which was a mistake on my part, becase the next thing I know the dragon crashed straight through the old curch we were hiding in.

Oh shit, Ahsoka thought to me.

"You thought it! Now run and think!"

We slammed through the front doors and dashed towards the woods which were creeping closer as we ran for our lives again with the dragon close behind. But right when we hit the forest edge the dragon flew off. 

"Well that was a close one", I said relieved. Sitting down next to a tree with Ahsoka soon followed, but instead laying on me

You said it. Now the reason I thought that it wasn't a dragon was because they never leave the Shadow Land.

"The Shadow Land?" I asked.

Yes. It's the land north of the Winchester Mountains and east of the Salvatore Sea.

"Hmm. I think I've heard of it, but I always thought that it was some fairy tale. A spoof that scared children into behaving or they would be sent there for being back."

Well, yes and no. It is meant to be known as a fairy tale fore no one every wants to be sent there. It is a prison meant to hold the most heinous and treacherous of monsters not willing to live in peace.

"Youch. Would not want to be sent there." I said. "Wait. So how do you know so much about this land?"

Let's just think I know people and leave it at that.

"Know people? How the heck could you know people? You're a bloody w-," I started to rant but was cut short by Ahsoka's voice ringing in my head.

I thought, leave. It. At. That. Ahsoka thought snapped at me. I decided it best to let this be for now, but mark my words I will get the truth out of him.

"Well, I do believe that dragon is gone. Let's get going, yeah?" I asked the almost a sleep wolf on my lap. 

Hmm... Alright fine. But I want to ask you something.

"Sure shoot," I say while pushing him off me to get up.

Hmph. So...did you get my treat?, he thinks with the biggest wolf grin on his face.

"Really? We just got done running for our lives from a bloody dragon and the thing you are most concerned about, is your treat?" I ask completely bewildered. 

Well, duh. 

Just as I was about to rant to him about being a complete idiot, we both heard a blood-curdling scream coming from the direction of my house and a billow of smoke. 

Without a seconds thought I started sprinting towards my house. Towards my mother, ignoring Ahsoka's pleading thoughts for me to stop in my head.
