Bestiary Master

*Kalani's POV*

Right now, the others and I are running after a monster. "We're not gonna make it, friends." Quint says. While we were running, we passed a shop that used to sell clothes. "We can't let ut get away!" My brother says. "We haven't gotten the essence of a mouth breather yet!" Quint says. 'So that'swhat it is. As usual the others haven't told me a thing about what we are doing.' I thought to myself.

"We are so bad at catching monsters today!" June says. "How about canning the chatter 'till we catch this thing? Sheesh, you talk more with three mouths than this big ugly thing does with 15." Dirk says to them. "Dirk's right, especially about the park of you three talking!" I say. "Don't be rude sis." Jack says to me.

We chased the monster to the stuff-o-mart. "It's inside the stuff mart!" Jack yells. "Grab its essence!" Quint says, "Wait! What is his essence?" Quint asked. "I'm looking, I'm looking!" Jack says, looking at the bestiary book. Then he hits something and drops the book. "Uhh! Maybe you should look where you're going?" June asks my brother.

"What is essence anyway?" Dirk asks. Then we heard cans clattering and a roar from the monster. "Yah!" Dirk yells, trying to jump on top of the monster. While he was doing that, I went over what I knew about a monsters essence as they don't like to tell me stuff.

I know that Thrull's bestiary makes it clear that it's unique to each creature. For example, the leathery skin of the Winged Wrench and a Dozer's gnarled toenail.

Anyway, Dirk failed to catch the monster and Quint went after it yelling, "I got it! I got it!" But the monster climbed up a shelf and got away. "I don't got it." Quint says. "June! Catch!" Jack yells, throwing the book to her, before taking a photo of the creature. "Ah! Got the photo!" Jack says.

"Now we just need a... tooth!" June says, looking in the book. "On it!" Quint yells. However, the monster had different ideas and jumped out a window. "He went that way." Quint says. We opened the doors and saw the monster. "Dirk, flank left. I'll cover right. Jack, go high. Kalani and Quint, if it doubles past, don't let it get past." June says.

"You got it!" Quint says."Wait, how are we supposed to do that?" Quint asks me and I just shrugged. Now Quint was giving himself a pep talk when the monster came running at us. Quint got his foot stuck and couldn't get out of the monsters path so I pulled him down so he wouldn't get hurt.

The monster jumped over us and Jack yelled, "Surprise aerial attack!" He jumped off the roof and landed on the monsters back. The monster fought back and Jack uninevitably, lost to the monster and got thrown off. Dirk and June came running up and Jack pulls up his sword. "I got it!" He says. The monster got away. "We did it!" Quint says, happily. But he was still stuck to the goo. "Yay." Quint says.

We were walking back and Dirk was whistling. "Perfecto teamwork." Jack says, "I loved how June was all 'Dirk, flank left, six o'clock, I'll go right commando style'." "I don't sound like that." June says. "You so do." Jack replied. "Heh! And Jack, the way you rode that thing luke a rodeo rider!" Dirk says. "The way we cornered that thing like people who corner things." June says.

Meaning, Quint and I kept quiet until Jack says, "Yeah. Oh, and Quint, you--you got stuck in a tough spot there, dude." Quint only hums and I walk on ahead with Rover. "Wait, guys. Listen." June says and we all go silent. We couldn't hear anything. No zombie noises anywhere.

"I don't hear anything." Dirk says. "Exactly." June replied. "There's a serious lack of undead groaning in the air. Usually this area's full of zombies. Don't you think that's weird." I asked them. "Maybe? But what isn't weird these days?" Jack asks. "Me." Dirk says, eating a leaf off a branch. "Uh, hey, friend, the whole thing that just transpired, with the mouth breather, did I...?" Quint asks Jack.

"Yeah, that was crazy, huh?" Jack replied. "It's just, uh, I don't think I helped much" Quint says. 'Better than not bring able to help as they stop you from helping a lot.' I think to myself. "I'm--I'm feeling a bit like Mortimer Biddle." Quint says. "Who?" June asked.

"From out comic book. 'Ninja Space Avenger in Space!'" Jack says. I spaced out when Jack kept talking Jack and he handed Quint the Beastiary book. Then another monster appeared, "It's Gravel." June says, looking in the book. Jack told us information about the monster and then says, "Maybe we can tackle Gravel another day. Pizza break?" He asked and we nodded.

Now we were back at Joe's Pizza. We said hi to Bruce and then ran inside. We walked up to Thrull and told him how we got another 5 pages. He said it was vital that it be completed soon nd said well done to Jack. "It wasn't just me. Dirk tackled one, June wrangled another. And Quint-" Jack was talking but I walked away from them. Thinking it was better for me to sit alone and eat.

The others are out looking for another beast but Jack was stubborn and made me stay with the monsters. Just great. Not! But most of them are nicer to the other than me. Though Skaelka is nicer to me that the others and then there's Bardle - he cares about me more than my brother and his friends and he makes sure I'm okay if I'm left alone when they'd rather show off.

I had talked to Skaelka for a while before walking around and trying to find the others and eventually, Isee the others and go over to them. When I get to them Quint seems annoyed. "Hey. What's wrong with Quint?" I asked but thrn we heard rumbling. "Oh, no." Jack says. Gravel was back.

We hid beside the truck and Jack says, "Not ready yet." We all got in the truck and we went to another area to find another monsters essence to add to the Beastiary. We soon stopped and got out. "Let the Beastiary quest resume. Keep your eyes open for the Bindlesaurs. This is their turf." Jack says.

I was looking around with Quint when Jack asked for his Beastiary book and then Jack completely destroyed his book. Jack walked away while Quint looked at the remains of his Beastiary book. I give him a hug and say, "Jack was a Jack for doing that. I liked your book more than the monsters one."

Quint nodded and said it's fine. "I'm fine. Everything is great." He says. Quitn stopped off after yelling at Dirk and June. I went after him and then we saw the Gravel. Quint asked me to help him get the Gravels essence. I left while he stuck the Gravel to the ground but it morphed into a lot of small ones.

We ran away, me in front of him, getting chased. We were cornered when the others came running and Quint got stuck inside of one. They went in to find him and get him back out. When they got him out, Quint said he found the monsters essence. Then the Gravel lifted up a storage crate and it attacked us.

Quint used his weapon to vaccum up the Gravel and trap him inside. Jack took a picture and we could finally relax. Jack listened everything good about Quint and I nodded before we got in the truck. I sat in the back to try and block out their signing

We went back to Joe's Pizza and I sat at a table beside the others and Skaelka joined me. Quint went to talk to Thrull while Skaelka and I talked. Soon we left and they said bye to Bruce but I stopped.

"Guys, where is Bruce?" I asked them. They looked back and Dirk said, "Aliens got him." I shook my head at that and in the distance, we could hear something screeching.

Little did we know the zombies were all following the screeching noise...
