"Okay hear me out, you want him, I want her. I say we make a plan."
"Go on."
"Plan A, we fake date. They will get jealous and come crawling to our feet."
"And if that fails?"
"Then there is Plan B."
"Which is?"
"You...

"NO SIRIUS! THE SYRUP GOES ON AFTER IT'S COOKED!" Remus exasperated as he quickly snatched the bottle out of his friends hand and passed it over to a laughing Fleamont. "Laugh it up now Monty, you won't be laughing when he starts a fire and all your playboy magazines go up in flames."
Fleamont quickly shut his mouth and placed the syrup on the counter as his sister bubbled over in laughter.
"Haha he got you good." Laken snorted, wiping a fake tear from under her eye as she moved to help her concentrated father flip a pancake.
He had made it his goal to learn to cook before Laken goes back to school.
"Oh you have no room to talk, should I bring up the Fred shrine you have in your room?" Fleamont smirked as he threw an orange up and caught it with one hand.
"It's not a shrine." The younger girl rolled her eyes.
"Yeah that's what I would say to." Fleamont said before throwing the orange her way.
Laken quickly caught it and tossed it a few times before rolling it off her arm and sending it smack into her brothers face. "Oops."
"Enough children." Remus sighed, though it was obvious he was trying to hide his amusement as his lips quirked up into a grin.
"Aha!" Sirius suddenly cheered as he held up a plate in victory. "It's finally finished! Now, who wants to be my taste tester?"
The room stayed silent as Sirius glanced back and forth between the three, his eyes finally stopping on the youngest of the bunch who took a step back in horror.
"God no."
"Laken darling! Thank you for volunteering." Sirius smiled as he poured some syrup on the plate and grabbed a fork before sitting it down on the counter in-front of her . " Bon appétit."
With a grimace on her face the blonde looked down to the pancake that looked way to mushy for her liking. "Dad it's not even fully coo-"
"Silence! It's perfect!." Sirius said as he smiled down at the lump of bread lovingly. "Now, if you want your boyfriend and your hooligan friends to come over on Friday then you will eat my cooking."
Laken sighed and Fleamont let out a snort, earning him a harsh glare from his little sister.
Deciding to just bite the bullet, Laken grabbed the fork and took a mouthful of pancake only to spit it out seconds later as her mouth became full of pancake batter.
"It's yummy right?" Sirius asked, looking down at his daughter with excited eyes.
Laken looked from her father to Remus and Fleamont, who both gave her sorry eyes, and back to her father who's smile had started to drop at her silence.
Sometimes it's okay to not be a dick.
And with that thought in mind and pancake batter dripping from her lips, Laken swallowed.
"It's amazing dad." She barely got out as she tried to ignore the nasty powdery taste in her mouth, sending her father a thumbs up and a big smile as he started to bounce around in happiness.
"Yes! I should be on Cake Boss!" Sirius squealed before stopping in his tracks. "Wait, does anyone smell smoke?"
As soon as he had said it the smell had come apparent to everyone else in the room and they all turned their heads to the stove that was now on fire.
"Sirius?"
"Yes Remus?"
"Did you turn off the stove?"
"I believe so Remus."
"Sirius?"
"Remus?"
"Are you lying to me?"
"Yes Remus."
Remus sighed before quickly springing into action and running to the other room to grab the fire extinguisher while the other three just watched the fire grow with curious eyes.
"It's so pretty." Sirius awed coughing Fleamont to nod in agreement.
"Yeah, the way the light hits the wall looks dope."
"Somebody call nine one one, shorty fire burning on the dance floor." Laken sung as Remus came back in and quickly got rid of the fire before putting his hands on his hips and turning to look at the three with a dead stare.
"You've got to be kidding me." He said. "Are the three of you really that dumb?"
"Hey! We're not dumb!" The three protested together.
"Just a little mentally challenged." Laken said as she held up to fingers that were very close together.
Remus ran a hand through his hair and let out a sigh before walking out of the kitchen to get some much needed alone time.
But of course they weren't going to let him have that.
"Momma Remus wait up!"
