*Veronica POV*
"Fuck..." I mumbled under my breath, my heart rapidly racing and my breathing became heavy.
"Veronica West am I correct?" The taller officer asked.
"Yeah..." I nervously reply.
"May you please come with us?" His voice became more stern.
"Of course..." my breath was shaking and my words came out more like a stutter.
"We'll be waiting for you outside..." the shorter one kindly said as they both walked away.I turned back around to Asher and Ian and they already look confused and concerned. I grabbed my bag and sighed.
"I'll call you if I need you I guess..." I said while backing away. And then rapidly walking away.
I obviously got no reply as they are still pretty much confused but I don't blame them I would also be like that if this happened to either one of them. The two officers were outside already by the car ready to go. So I climbed in the back and we were on the way to the police station.
"You know you could have just called me?" I try to sweetly gesture.
"Miss west, your mother wouldn't give the information of your cell number. So we had no other options. Sorry if it was inconvenient for you." The taller one nods his head thinking his lips out by pressing them together.
"Seriously? What she do now?" I cross my arms.
"Drinking and driving. She know that against the laws?" The shorter one responded.
"Ugh. She said she would change. And yea she does but who is she to give any fucks. I'm so sorry. I'll get her straight for you soon I promise." I shake my head.
As we arrived and walked inside, I already saw my mother fussing around trying to fight her way out an officers grips."You fucker. This is hurting me!" She whimpered this time trying to kick her way out his grip.
he just stood there firmly holding the cuffs that was on my mom.
"Are any of you gonna help me here!" She screamed lurking her eyes around the station.Until she spotted me. "Veronica darling... come help mom please!" She cried out to me. I could already see the shit she's brought herself into and I just stood there trying to be tough but I felt a light tear stroll down my cheek as I slowly shook my head.
"We just need you to sign some papers ma'am, and also we would like to ask a few questions." The officer asked as he had a form ready with a pen.
I nodded my head and walked to the desk lifting the pen, I looked to my mom who already has regret written all over her face.I was then led into a room asked some questions and gladly they let her off with a warning.
"Let her go." The tall officer said rolling his eyes.
So the officer does so and my mom immediately rushes to me and gives me a tight hug.
"Thank you so much for coming... I would've been here all afternoon and night." She whispered in my ear.
"No words can describe how much I love you..." she finished letting go of me and giving me a small smile. Is she being for real? In what world will she think I believe that one bit? I know damn right she doesn't love me.
She let go of me and waved to the officers with a smirk.
As she made her way outside to wait for me in the car. I however still had some papers to sign and do for her.
I took a deep breath and smiled at the officers one more time.Hours had passed, the night was already here, I signed the papers, now I was in a room waiting... I'm use to this anyways. I suppose my mom never learns the rule 'don't drink and drive' else I'd never be in this situation multiple times.
An officer with a clip file walked in. He leaned against the door and gave a long yawn.
"Thank you for your time. You're good to go ma'am..." He assured.
I pushed myself up from my chair and gave him a quick smile before walking outside to my moms car.
She was sitting in the passenger seat looking bored out of her life, fiddling with her hair and looking to her side occasionally.I climbed in and let out a huge sigh before turning my head to the side giving my mom that disgusted look yet again.
"Are you ever gonna get your life together?" I ask.
"Don't say that Veronica you know I have it all together!" She sharply spat back.
"Mom... we haven't even been here for a week and you've already found yourself in a police station!" I correct her.
"Yeah that was a stupid mistake I made! And from now on I'm going to learn from it and never do it again!" she tried to convince me but I didn't believe a word she said. Again.I shook my head and looked down to my lap.
"I'm trusting you on this one." I say.
I want to see what she'll do on this one...
I hear those sigh of hers.
"Look Veronica..." she stutters.
"I'll try." She states.
Well thats just one fucking lie isn't it...
I buckled in and drove us home, the whole ride was quiet and that was not normal for my mother. She would always rabbit on about something.
We got home and settled down.
I was about to go upstairs before my mom called me out.
"Veronica..."
I turn my around and look at her...
She has the most disappointed face I've ever seen.
"I really am sorry for being such a shit mother..." she starts to tear up.
I feel the warm tears stroll down my cheeks.
"Goodnight mom..." I say back, turning back and rushing up the stairs.
I quickly pull my phone out and call Asher.
"Who is this?" His sleepy voice spoke.
"Veronica..." I tried to hide the hurt in my voice but it was pretty obvious.
"Is everything alrighty?" He asks starting to get concerned.
I held back my whimpers with my hand over my mouth. I couldn't say anything, else if I did I would just end up burst out crying.
I stay quiet and my sniffles fill the silence.
"I'm coming over now." He responded.
"You don't even know where I-"
The call ended...
