"How did I know what?" Joshua said. "Um nothing what did you want?" Erina asked him. "I know you're confused about this whole thing but you don't have to be, " Joshua blurted out. Erina sighed. "Tell your dad that we aren't dating. I don't want you to be getting followed" Erina hanged up before Joshua said anything . "That was crazy. I got goosebumps" Erina smiled. "Was this a coincidence or- " Erina sighed. "Whatever I'm going to go to HelloFresh and explain myself. Wait what exactly am I gonna say? Oh hi there, my last boss left his son in charge for two months and his son ended up firing me because he had feelings for me and his dad wouldn't approve of it. Oh my gosh no, I'm not saying that" Erina bit her lip. "What if I say I messed up a meal or I accidently broke something- no those aren't believable" she mumbled and grabbed her purse. "I'll think of something" she took a deep breath and headed to HelloFresh
HelloFresh was a company that provided chefs, maids, and waiters to big companies that hired them. You were assigned to a certain company for two years then you would work at a different company. Before Erina worked at HelloFresh she worked at a pastry shop making cupcakes and cakes. One day Eric, her current manager, handed her a small white card and asked if she was interested in joining HelloFresh. Erina was excited for the opportunity and was hired on the spot. She started working at a Rehab center before she began working at Spring Ranch. Her manager, Eric, had been guiding her while she was there.
"Okay" Erina breathed. She scanned her id and thankfully the doors to main lounge opened. "Erina" her manager Eric looked at her. "Hey" she walked towards him "You haven't contacted me in a week." Eric looked at her. "Sorry, I was busy" he looked around the room. " Did my previous boss call you" Erina looked at the ground. "Yeah, all he said was that you weren't fit for the job" Eric mumbled. "Actually-" Erina began. " Wait. I need to confess something" Eric blurted out. "Uh go ahead" she sighed. "I know Pastor Smith" Eric stared croaked. "Yeah I figured" she laughed. "Um no. Okay uh- I used to go to his church. I just moved to a different apartment complex so I started going to a church that was closer to me" Eric said nervously. "That's what you wanted to tell me? That your Christian too? You don't have to make it so serious. Actually it's funny that you say that actually because I-" "I was there when you first met Joshua" Eric interrupted her. "What" Erina looked at him "The real first day you met Joshua. Three years ago. You were walking to work and passed by Spring Ranch. I was part of the youth group, along with Joshua and Andrew. We were handing out flyers for a bible study series we were going to start on Sunday. I saw that Joshua went over and talked to you. You told him you would come but you never did. He waited for you and was sad when he realized you had lied to him. Then one day I went to the pastry shop two blocks down the street to buy cupcakes for our bake sale, and there you were. I kept my cool and offered you a job here. I was glad when you accepted it. I asked the CEO if I could manage you and he allowed me. When you finished your two years at the rehab, Pastor Smith asked me if we had cooks he could hire. Amazing isn't it, how God works," Eric smiled. Erina looked at him and backed away. "So you did this" her eyes widened. "I wouldn't have gotten to know Joshua if it hadn't been for you" Erina covered her mouth. "What? Is something happening with Joshua" Eric smiled. "No no it's nothing" Erina started walking away. "Oh and by the...you're fired" Eric said. Erina turned to look at him. "Okay" she smiled and left.
"Andrew" Erina smiled. "What did you want to talk about?" Andrew sat down next to Erina. "Thanks for meeting with me. Uh- I got fired from HelloFresh" she smiled. "Oh dang I'm sorry about that" he looked at her. "No it's fine don't apologize, it's not your fault" she laughed "I just wanted to ask for a favor. I know the timing is kind of weird but ever since I met Joshua I've been hearing more from God. The other day I was wondering about what I should do, about my feelings so I tried to pray. I prayed because I was confused and I hoped deep down I would get an answer. Then Joshua called me. He told me to stop looking because everything I wanted was in front of me. At first I thought he was talking about himself but just today I realized that he wasn't. I guess I just need help. I'm ready to try and get to know God and then maybe later on I can try to get to know Joshua" Erina felt her eyes get teary. "I'm really happy for you" Andrew grabbed her hand. "I'm here if you have questions about anything. I can't promise you that I'll be able to answer all your questions but I'll try my best" Andrew laughed. "Thank you, really thank you" Erina pulled Andrew in for a hug. "Wait, where am I gonna work now? I have to help my mom with Timmy" she sighed. "Well I actually have a friend who is a manager at HelloFresh maybe he can-" "Eric?" Erina interrupted him. "You know him?" Andrew asked. "Yeah I know him. He was actually the one that scouted me. And he's the one that got me the job at Spring Ranch" Erina grinned. "Wait he got you the job there?" Andrew gasped. "Yeah you guys were in youth group together right?" she looked at him. "Yeah we were" Andrew laughed. "Actually me and Joshua met three years ago" Erina finally said. "What?!" Andrew's eyes widened.
