Undesirable Love

Chapter 4

   Once I told Niki she said we had to go get new dresses. We started looking around the castle for Jade and Becca. We found Becca in the library and Jade sparring with Prince Tommy. We were about to leave until we realized we didn't know where we were going.

   "Does anyone even have any emeralds?" Jade asks.

   "I have some in my room." I say.

   "I'll fetch them." Becca says.

   "No, I'll get them." I tell her and walk back towards the castle. I enter my room grabbing the emeralds. As I reach the door it starts opening from the other side. Techno comes into the room and looks at me.

   "Going somewhere Athena?" He asks.

   "Yes I am Coeus." I told him. "Niki, Becca, Jade and I are going for dresses."

   "Mind if I join? I need new attire for tomorrow as well." He says grabbing his cloak.

   "You may join if you would like." I say. "We do need someone to show us around."

   "Shall we." He says holding open the door.

   "We shall." I say exiting the room. We walk to the gates where the others and carriage were waiting. Techno sits in the front with a guard while we sit in the back.

   "Why is Techno coming?" Niki asks.

   "He said he also needed clothing." I say. "And we needed someone that knew their way around the village."

   The rest of the ride we talked about what we were looking for and plans for tomorrow night. We planned on staying together when we're able to. The carriage came to a stop and the door opened. We stepped out of the carriage and into the village.

   "Sapnap, don't go too far." Techno says to the guard. "Where to first?"

   "We need clothing." Niki responds. Techno walks into a small store and everyone starts looking around. Everyone found clothes and went to try on the clothes. Niki had a light pink dress, Becca had a black dress, Jade had a green and black suit, and I had a red dress. Jade gathered the clothes and brought them to the front counter.

   "You're getting a suit?" He asks Jade and she nods. "Suits are for males."

   "Are you questioning a royal guard?" I say.

   "Shes any royal guard if I've seen one." He says making Jade put her hand on her sword.

   "Your head should be taken off for speaking like that." Techno comes up behind us.

   "Prince Technoblade." The man says with worry in his voice. "What brings you here?"

   "I'm here with my fiance to get clothes for the ball tomorrow." He says and puts an arm around my shoulder.

   "My apologies, your highness's He puts the clothes in a bag and hands it to Niki. "For free."

   "I'm going to kill him." Jade says as the door closes behind us.

   "Calm down Jade." Becca tells her.

   "People are rude around here if they don't know you." Techno tells us. "Anger issues?"

   "Yes." Jade replies quickly.

   "She doesn't like when people say she or Becca can't be guards because they are females. Or how she can't wear a suit cause she's a girl."

   "It's not my fault that suits are more comfortable." Jade says.

   "How about we go get some jewelry." Niki suggests.

   "This way." Techno says leading us away. We walk into the building filled with jewelry. Jade got a peridot necklace, a ruby ring, and obsidian earrings. Becca got a black pearl ring with amethyst earrings. Niki got a rose quartz ring and a lithium quartz necklace. I got ruby earrings with a red sapphire necklace.

   "Would you like to pick out my ring?" Techno asks after looking at crowns. "I already picked out yours."

   "Yea." I say and walk over to the rings while he goes to the counter. Looking at the rings only one caught my eye. It was a gold ring with a carnelian gem. I grab it, collecting the rest of the jewelry from everyone and going to the counter.

   "How many emeralds?" I ask grabbing my bag

   "The prince already paid for it all." The woman says putting everything in a bag. I put my purse away and took the bag from her thanking her. We walk to the door as Techno holds it open.

   "You didn't have to pay for everything." I told him.

   "It was my treat." He says as we get back to the carriage. Before stepping into the carriage I see a puppy surrounded by children. The puppy looked scared as the children started throwing rocks at it. Before taking Technos hand and getting onto the carriage I walk over to them.

   "Y/n!" Techno calls but I ignore the call.

   "Leave the poor thing alone." I say walking up behind the children.

   "No." One of the children says and continues throwing the rocks.

   "I advise you to listen to her." A voice says from behind me.

   "Prince Technoblade." The child says.

   "If my fiance thinks you should leave the puppy alone then you should." He says putting his arm around me.

   "Yes sir." The children say and run away. The puppy stands and walks over to us wagging its tail. I bend down picking up the puppy and looking up at Techno.

    "Can we keep him please?" I ask him.

   "If you promise to take care of him then yes." He tells me.

   "Thank you!" I say excitedly and kiss the side of his mask, seeing a little blush from underneath. We walk back to the carriage and I get in with him going to the front.

   "A puppy!" Jade exclaims.

   "Yea Techno said I could keep him." I say with a smile.

   "What's his name?" Niki asks.

   "I'm going to let Techno name him." I tell them as the carriage moves.

   By the time we got home it was dark outside. I put the puppy and my bags in the room before going to the dining hall for supper. We ate mushroom soup while talking about our days. I returned to the room with Techno ready for bed.

   "What's his name?" Techno asks, looking at the dog.

   "I wanted you to name him." I told him.

   "Hmm." He says thinking. "Floof."

   "Floof?"

   "Yes Floof." He says and lays on his pillow on the floor.

   "Floof it is." I say and lay on the bed.

   "Goodnight Athena." He says as Floof curls up next to him.

   "Night Coeus." I say, closing my eyes.
