Undesirable Love

Chapter 5

   "Y/n wake up!" Someone yells, shaking me.

   "Niki?" I ask, opening my eyes.

   "You're late!" She says pulling me out of bed.

   "What are you talking about it's only-" I pause looking at the wall. "Three in the afternoon!"

   "Yea let's go. You have to get ready." She grabs a bag and pushes me out of the room.

   "There you are." Becca says when I get to Niki's room. "We have to get you ready."

   Niki hands me my dress and I quickly change. After changing I sit in front of the mirror where my hair and makeup starts getting done. Jade was styling my hair while Becca and Niki worked on my makeup.

   "How has it been for you guys since we've arrived here?" I ask.

   "It's been nice." Becca responds. "I've gotten to know the guards and more about the castle."

   "She's been around the guard George a lot." Niki adds.

   "We were sparring" Becca says in defense. 

   "I've seen her more with Prince Wilbur." Jade says.

   "He was showing me around!" Becca says. "What about Jade? No one is going to say anything about her?"

   "There is nothing to say about me. You're just trying to change the subject." Jade says back

   "I've seen you with Prince Tommy and his guards."

   "That's true." Niki says "When me and y/n found you you were with them."

   "I was sparring with them!" Jade says defensively.

   "Girls girls calm down." I say. "I was just asking a simple question."

   The conversation ends with Niki changing the subject. Everything was finished in two hours leaving an hour until the ball starts. Everyone else quickly gets dressed and I help when I'm able to. The clock hit six and the bells rang indicating that the ball was starting. Before walking to the ball room I checked myself in the mirror and fluffed my dress. I walked to the entrance of the ballroom where Techno stood waiting. He wore a red suit, his cloak, and crown. The others walked in and we waited until told to go in.

   "Here." He hands me a gold ring with a rubellite gem. "You'll want this too." He hands me a compass.

   "What's this for?" I ask, holding the compass.

   "It's connected to my ring." He says showing the ring on his hand. "I have one in your ring too. In Case we lose each other."

   "We're ready for you two." Dream says

   "You ready?" He asks.

   "Ready as I'll ever be." I told him. A fanfare starts and he holds out his arm. I hook my arm on his as the doors open. Cheers come from all around as Techno and I walk down the flight of stairs. We get to the bottom and everyone around us bows.

   "Let the ball begin!" Techno announces. The music starts and everyone starts talking away. Techno unhooks his arm and points to his ring before walking to Phil. I make my way to Niki, Becca, and Jade.

   "Wine?" I ask as we walk towards the drinks. Jade reaches for a glass but gets her hand slapped away.

   "Ow what the hell?" She asks, looking at Becca.

   "You're only eight-teen you can't drink." She states.

   "That's not fair." Jade says.

   "Look, they have some nice sparkling cider for you children." Becca hands her a glass. Jade grumbles something under her breath and takes a drink. The song changed into Mellohi and Tommy walked over.

   "May I have this dance?" He asks Jade to hold out a hand. She looks at me waiting for approval. I nod my head

   "Yes you may." She takes his hand.

   "May I also have this dance?" Someone says from behind. I turn to see techno holding out a hand.

   "Of course." I tell him to take his hand. He leads me onto the dance floor putting a hand on my waist while I put one on his shoulder. We start dancing and I look to my side to see Becca dancing with Wilbur and Jade now with Tubbo while Niki stands watching our drinks.The song came to a close and Techno walked with me back to my drink. Becca separated from Wilbur as Jade separated from Ranboo walking to the table.

   "How was dancing?" Niki asks.

   "It was fun." Becca replies.

   "That and confusing." Jade adds. "I would be dancing with one person one minute then the person would change the next minute."

   Techno stayed by my side most the night while others were off having fun. At one point I heard Tommy telling Phil to behead someone for being sexist towards Jade. And other times everyone was dancing. The night was going well as planned. After two hours Wilbur drank too much and was talking to Becca who also drank too much. Jade was talking with Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo while Niki was talking to a guard with red and blue glasses. I didn't drink much, wanting to keep my friends in line. My conversation with Techno was ended by someone tapping my shoulder from behind.

  "May I have this dance?" King Schlatt asked.

   "Yes you can." I say. We walk onto the dance floor and share a small dance before I walk back to Techno. I start a new conversation as we walk back to the drinks table. Suddenly the music stopped and windows from all around were broken with people jumping inside. All the guards raised their weapons preparing to fight. Looking around Jade was fighting people off with Tubbo and Ranboo. The drunkenness of Becca seemed to disappear as she acted fast, grabbing her sword and fighting. Niki was being protected by the man with the glasses.

   Two swords clashed in front of me as Techno stopped a sword from hitting me. I stayed behind Techno as he fought off person after person like it was nothing. Someone came up from behind putting a cloth over my mouth. I held my breath trying to kick the person behind but to no use I needed to breathe. I brought in a quick breath drawing Technos attention for a quick second before he got attached again. The last thing I saw before closing my eyes was Techno getting farther and farther away as he yelled my name.
