"What the fuck do you mean he's not pressing charges?!" I scream at Jackson who thought that it would be a great idea to come into my home at seven in the morning and wake me up telling me one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.
Jackson flinched at the sudden volume change and stared at me for a few moments, definitely not expecting that reaction from me before clearing his throat and preparing to speak again. "I mean erm.. Isaac said he doesn't think taking legal action is necessary...I tried to convince him Lea I really did, but you know him and how stubborn he is. I even tried to bully him into changing his mind but this kid's decision is final, his mind is made up.'' Jackson spills to me talking probably the fastest I've ever heard him speak. While he continues talking I look down to his hands which are at his sides picking at the little flares on the holes of his jeans, which he only does when he's nervous, he always gets so fidgety.
"Jackson enough-" I cut him off holding up my hand with my palm facing him, signaling to stop before I continue "take a breath."
Jackson closes his eyes slowly and starts inhaling. He stays silent for a few more seconds before exhaling a long breath and opening his eyes.
"I'm fine, can I just... have some water?" Jackson asks, sounding much calmer than he sounded a few seconds earlier.
"There are glasses in the right cabinet closest to the fridge, help yourself I'll meet you down there." I tell Jackson before removing the thick green comforter off of me and stretching my body, hopping off my bed and heading straight for my bathroom.
Due to Isaac's idiocy, I knew I wasn't going back to sleep so I might as well start getting ready for my day. I brushed my teeth and did my normal morning routine before putting on a cropped tee and some leggings just for now, since rehearsals aren't until 2. I walked out of my closet and grabbed my coin purse on my nightstand and headed down stairs to meet Jackson in the kitchen.
I walked into my kitchen to see Jackson sitting on one of the chairs on my island, stuffing his face with cinnamon toast crunch.
"That's an interesting way to drink water..." I tell him with his back turned away from me, causing him to jump a little.
"Oh shi-" Jackson says mid bite causing him to spill some cereal from his mouth and the bowl, getting it on himself and all over my floor. "Well shit Lea, look at what you made me do! You scared me so you're cleaning it up." Jackson says grabbing paper towels cleaning up the mess he just told me to clean.
I stare at him cleaning up and I silently laugh before turning to grab food for myself from the fridge. I grab a yogurt and some raspberries and slide them across the counter right next to him. I close my fridge and walk around my island pulling out a chair to sit down.
"So what did the doctors say? Is he gonna be okay?" I ask in a more sincere tone while peeling off the lid of the yogurt and grabbing my spoon.
"Yeah he's gonna be okay, the doctor said he cut his right eyelid and popped a blood vessel too. His jaw was bruised pretty badly. They said one more hit and it would've been fractured, maybe even broken. His lip was also busted wide open so he had to get a couple of stitches, he's gonna look a little crazy for a few weeks but the doctors said there won't be any scarring and he should heal just fine." Jackson tells me while I'm eating spoonfuls of my yogurt.
