It was Kiyoomi and Yua's wedding day, everyone laughing, smiling, dancing. The happy newly weds talking to friends and family at the reception, all while one of Kiyoomi's best friends, Miya Atsumu was experiencing one of the worst days in his life, yet he always had a smile on his face and looking at things in a different perspective to what he would have had a few months ago.
Atsumu was standing taking in the view around him. I mean he was smiling at the sight of Kiyoomi happily talking to his and his new wife's family, the sight of his niece and nephew with Osamu and Rintarou and Tooru talking to friends before he realised that Hajime was approaching him.
"Hey Tsu, how are you?" Hajime asked the fake blonde.
"If I tell you the truth, seeing as you are one of my best friend and my best friend's husband you won't tell anyone until I leave at the very least?" Atsumu asked.
"Yeah, you can always talk to me." Hajime said softly and Atsumu smiled.
"I've been in love with Omi for the better half of a decade." Atsumu confessed.
"Why did you never tell him?" Hajime asked.
"Uh he is happy and well who would ever love me." Atsumu said and Hajime frowned.
"You are loveable though. So loveable, and even if he's happy you deserve to have been told if he ever loved you at all and he deserves to know as well." Hajime said.
"There is no point, he can't ever know. Especially since he seems so happy, I'm happy that everyone has someone." Atsumu said and Hajime looked at him with a sad smile.
"You will find someone." Hajime told Atsumu and Atsumu let out a dry laugh.
"No, I already have someone." Atsumu said shocking Hajime.
"Who?"
"Well I call him Burt but my doctors call him stage 4 terminal brain cancer." Atsumu answered and Hajime frowned and had a tear running down his cheek. "Don't cry Hajime, I made my peace with it." Atsumu said and Hajime wiped away the few tears.
"H-how long do you have?" Hajime asked.
"A month or so, but I'll be gone in a few days." Atsumu answered shocking Hajime.
"W-what does that mean?" Hajime questioned further.
"I mean I have a flight to Iceland tonight, prescription pills that one of my doctors gave me and a dream to see the lights." Atsumu said and Hajime shook his head.
"No, you know Tooru needs you. I mean we are about to adopt, they'll have to meet their uncle." Hajime said upset.
"You can tell them about me, Samu, Rin and the kids know I won't be back although the kids don't know why." Atsumu told Hajime.
"Then what about the rest of us?"
"I have letters in my bedside drawer, my one to Omi confesses everything and to the rest of you it's just personal things and memories." Atsumu said and Hajime nodded.
"But do you really want your last memory of us to be at Kiyoomi's wedding to another person?" Hajime questioned.
"My last memory of everyone is seeing them happy, just look at how beautiful Omi's smile is and how in love the two of them look. I see my niece and nephew running around laughing while Samu and Rin look at them so happily and so lovingly. Tooru having a conversation while glancing over at you every few minutes and looking at you so fondly, like his world revolves around you. And you and I having a wonderful conversation. That is what I'll remember." Atsumu explained and Hajime smiled.
