[Daniel's POV]

It was quarter past 5, and I was changing out of my work clothes, hastily pulling my bow tie and vest off and slipping on a casual Hollister shirt after I'd taken off my dress shirt. Working as a waiter at a posh restaurant meant I had to invest in fancier clothes in order to keep my job. It has also taught me proper table habits and how to treat ladies nicely, not that I would really need that since I don't exactly swing that way. Giving myself a final glance in the mirror, I slipped off my black dress shoes and put on the pair of Nikes I had stashed in my locker.

I have honestly never been so excited for a coffee date before. Like ever. I mean, it's not everyday that you snag a date with a member of the hottest boyband in Britain and possibly the whole world! You have no idea how happy I was when I showed Niall and Zayn to their seats yesterday. Even more so when Zayn slipped me Niall's number, telling me that I stood a chance. Okay, I admit I haven't been the most discreet person when my crush was right in front of me. Niall is just so adorable! I've been to one of their gigs in London, but that was nothing compared to seeing them up close an personal in real life. 2/5 seemed more hot and perfect than they were on TV and posters.

"Daniel," Nathan, a fellow employee called out to me.

"Yeah?"

"Could you take my shift on Tuesday? I've got a date with Tina." Nathan and I attend the same uni and share a flat. I could say we're pretty close. Tina is his needy girlfriend that is super clingy and is a total homophobe. I absolutely disliked her.

"Er, sure. Only if you'd take my shift Monday night," I bargained.

"Aw come on! I'll take your shift tomorrow? How's that?"

Tomorrow? Sunday. Hmm. Sure why not? Always good to have a weekend off. "Deal," I said to him before grabbing my bag and heading out of the change rooms. "See ya, got a date to catch."

"Haha, go get some!" He wolf-whistled. Nathan is a pretty cool guy. A yer my senior, 20, half Pakistani, tall with short, black hair. He was like an older brother to me. An older brother I never had. I grew up with three older sisters and my mom. My dad left after I was born; saying he didn't want a family apparently.

I signed myself out at the counter, saying good bye to Jenny, the desk lady that took reservations and handled bills.

"~You need me man, I don't need you~," Ed Sheeran's voice rang out as my phone started buzzing in my pocket, signifying that I had an incoming call. Smiling as I saw the caller ID, I selected the 'accept' option.

"Hey," I greeted Niall on the other line.

"H-hi!! Uhm, I was wondering if I could get a ride cause Zayn refuses to let me use his car, wait-! Never mind! Liam's gonna drive me! Sorry!"

And before I got to say anything, he hung up. Eh, what was that? Shrugging off the feeling like I've just been rejected, I made my way to my flat that was a five-minute walk away from the restaurant I worked at.

I opened my door, only to be greeted by my hyper-active cousin. Well technically Elisabeth was my mom's cousin's brother-in-law's niece. So that would in some way make her my cousin. I guess. This whole family tree thing is hella confusing. I guess that's what being part Asian and having a huge 'other side of the family' does to you. Well mostly the Asian part, everyone has that other side of the family, just not the Asian part.

"Daniel!! Oh my gosh I looooooove your apartment!" Liz gushed. Pardon her English. She's from Canada and speaks with an accent. It's pretty cool though, but sometimes she speaks so fast and I can't understand her.

"Thanks, I like my flat too," I replied, emphasising the word flat. Y'see, when she came to London in three weeks ago, she wanted me to teach her the ways of English people. I've tried, starting with vocabulary, but it didn't work out so well.
