Y/n's POV I looked up surprised at the person who spoke to Uchikawa. His sour expression turned to a soft one as he turned toward me. I licked my lips out of nervousness while I stared at him, not knowing what to say or how to react. 'It's really awkward to see him now...'
Atsushi, his name was. He came from a high-class, affluent family who owned a hugely successful business company in Akatsuka. Everyone admired him for that and always wanted to be his friend mainly because he's wealthy and they thought he was really cool to be friends with. I kept looking at Atsushi who looked at me worriedly.
"Are you alright?" He asked me softly. I snapped back to reality at his gentle tone and quickly nodded. "Y-Yes. Thank you." I said, slightly bowing at him as a sign to show gratitude.
The canteen was a mess right now. I was too focused on Atsushi that I didn't even catch a glimpse of Iwase and Uehera going full-on physical on each other or Ichikawa being pulled away by Jyushimatsu and Oyama, another friend of his, or Choromatsu who seemed like was coming towards my direction between the tables but then suddenly halting.
Many, many memories came flooding as I took in the view of his face. Man, it felt like ages since I haven't seen Atsushi.
"I know I made a little promise to stay away from you but I uhh couldn't just sit there and watch you get hurt in front of me.." Said the boy who I was talking about minutes ago, the head counsellor's nephew, Atsushi.
He was also the guy that I used to sleep with.
That explains why I was shocked to see him after several months of parting ways. I just couldn't believe that he stood up for me after all of this...
A very specific party at the start of the first term of 12th grade was thrown at our classmate's place so that the students of our class could enjoy for the night. All I remember was us talking, him leading to a bedroom where... stuff happened, and it felt really good that we had to go at it again sometime else. I didn't have any mutual or serious feelings for him but it wasn't because I disliked him.
We met up randomly and let off our frustrations and that too in secret. We were fine with this kind of relationship until Iwase and Dobsu found out. They told me that Norimoto had feelings for him but I didn't know about it. She never brought up her crush instead she only hyped us to tell ours.
Of course, Norimoto was pissed off when she got to know about it that she nearly punched me. Being the good friend I am, I decided to end mine and Atsushi's little relationship for good. I told him that I didn't want to keep doing this anymore to which he thankfully understood. Things have gotten a bit better after that and I managed to win Norimoto's forgiveness even though it was her fault for not letting me know before.
At this moment, I just wished that I didn't end it so that I could smother my relationship with Norimoto's crush to her face and watch her fume in utter envy. I mean, who would want to see their crush in the embrace of another girl?
