CHAPTER 16- Saving Scorpius

ALBUS FELL BACK AFTER AN EXPLODING POTION FOUND IT'S MARK ON THE SIDE OF A WALL. He got back up, dusted himself off and stroked Rex who was about the same height as Albus. Rex exhaled heavily and launched a fireball at the wall.

"Why isn't he coming out?" Katerina grumbled, throwing a potion in an empty hallway. Katerina and Albus had been throwing potions all throughout the building, hoping to draw Snyde out. Albus stopped in his tracks and cursed under his breath. Katerina raised an eyebrow at him.

"Snyde is the only one here," said Albus "We thought that there would be others."

"Of course! Only Snyde's wand works here," said Katerina "So why would other wizards stick around?"

"We need to find Scorpius," said Albus "Assuming Rose and others haven't found him yet."

"And then what?" said Katerina.

"We pretend to break him out," said Albus "Make sure he follows us. That should make it easier for Rose."

Lena opened a door and sighed in relief as she saw Scorpius sitting on a chair, tied down just like Snyde was. She gestured for Rose and Lorcan to enter and they followed along with Piper, who was the same size as a small dog.

"Rose? Lena? Lorcan?" asked Scorpius "What are you doing here?"

"Rescuing you of course," said Rose, kneeling down next to Scorpius, untying the knots. Piper came next to her and started biting the ropes and soon Scorpius was free. He held Rose's face in his hands and brought his lips to hers. Rose smiled and kissed him again.

"You broke our pact," said Scorpius, addressing Lena. Lena laughed a little.

"I didn't," she said "I did what I had to do and I didn't have to kill you." Scorpius laughed a little and shook his head. His face suddenly dropped after seeing Lorcan.

"Let's go," said Lorcan "James and Lily's portkeys are set to leave in another fifteen minutes." Rose, Lorcan, Lena, Albus and Katerina had an hour to find Scorpius and complete their mission and find one of the portkeys that James and Lily left behind. After that James and Lily would place a boundary around the premises, preventing them from leaving.

"You shouldn't have come here," said Scorpius, as Rose dragged him out. They heard some explosion noise from the other side and decided to go out the other way. Lena led them out and they held tightly to a chair from Malfoy Manor.

Albus, Katerina and Lily apparated just outside the gates of Malfoy Manor and ran inside. Albus panted and smiled widely when he saw his best friend waving at him. He ran towards him and hugged him tightly.

"Snyde was following us but we didn't know if Rose had a chance to rescue you," said Katerina. Scorpius pursed his lips and looked at the floor.

"What's the matter?" Lily asked.

"You shouldn't have come," said Scorpius "I'm happy you rescued me but you shouldn't have come at all."

"What are you talking about?" Rose asked "Scorpy, I can't live without you."

"I can't live without you either but I wasn't in any danger," said Scorpius "I wasn't the target."

"You were the one who was kidnapped," said Lena "You were the one held against your will. Are you sure you weren't the target?"

"No I wasn't," said Scorpius "I was just the bait. Snyde wanted Lorcan."

"And he knew I would help because he saw Lily there," said Lorcan "Stupid celebrity section of the Daily Prophet." As children of the heroes of the second wizarding war, Albus, his family and his friends seemed to always find their names in an article in the celebrity section.

"Why wouldn't Snyde kill you?" asked Albus "Why wouldn't he kill any of us while we were in the building. He would have gotten twenty thousand galleons."

"Something's different," said Scorpius "The Foreign Hope is hunting us personally."

"Everyone on the list?" asked Katerina.

"No," said Scorpius, shaking his head "Just four people."

"Three guesses as to who the lucky four are," Katerina mumbled. James, Lily and Lorcan stared at Scorpius, Rose, Albus and Lena. Rose laced her fingers with Scorpius's and pursed her lips.

"Why?" asked Lorcan "Albus and Lena I understand. They are the highest on the list. But, Rose and Scorpius? You're higher than most but not that high."

"I think we might have made the Foreign Hope angry," said Scorpius "Which can only be possible of we met the Foreign Hope."

"So the Foreign Hope is someone we all have met," said Rose.

"Maybe we don't have to figure out who it is yet," said Lena "Capturing the Foreign Hope is what's important now and we don't even have to figure out who it is to do it."

"So, what do we do now?" asked Albus.

"We'll start by putting Auror protection on you four," said James "I can pull some strings. Call in a few favours."

"No," said Scorpius "We should take a page out of Snyde's book."

"You mean use you as bait?" asked Rose "I'm not doing that."

"Not just me all of us," said Scorpius "We gather as many people as we can from the list and we meet up somewhere. The Foreign Hope would jump at the opportunity to kill us."

"We build a trap for her," said Lily "That's brilliant."

"What's our excuse?" said Katerina "I mean we can't just tell all these people the truth. Besides, if one of the invited people slip up, it could mess up everything."

"We need something that gets everyone to one place without creating any kind of suspicion," said Rose "Not to mention, the people we invite shouldn't be suspicious of it and somehow we need to get the message to the Foreign Hope that we are meeting here."

"I have just the thing," said Albus, softly. Everyone stared at him. Lena was the only one who understood what he was talking about.

"Are you sure?" asked Lena.

"I hate it just as much as you do," said Albus "But we have no other option."

"What are you on about?" asked Katerina.

"A wedding," said Albus.

"It looks like Albus and I are getting married sooner than we thought," said Lena.

A/N: Happy New Year everyone!! January 1st is over and I wasted that day like I wasted 2021. I had five resolutions and already broke four of them and it's the second day of the new year so looks like Imma waste 2022 like I wasted the past two years!! Oh well!! This book is coming to an end and I'm really sad about it because I have no inspiration or time for another book so this just might be the last book I publish... maybe. If I get someone to co-author with me then I will publish another book 100% but if not then it's a 30% chance that I'll publish another book. As always, please check my spelling and grammar!!
