ROSE PULLED OUT ANOTHER BOTTLE OF MEAD AND POURED IT INTO LENA'S GLASS. This was the third bottle they had finished but none of them seemed the slightest bit plastered. After a nice dinner, the four of them sat next to the fireplace, drinking and talking. Scorpius put his arm around his wife and pulled her closer, kissing her temple. Rose smiled and gave her husband a small peck on his lips.
"Married for six months and you still act like a couple of teenagers," said Lena, raising her glass at Rose and Scorpius.
"Well, I still can't believe that Scorpius is my husband," said Rose, playing with her husband's fingers "It seems like yesterday we were sitting here and planning the wedding."
"It wasn't yesterday. It was six months ago," said Albus "We all were there. Scorpius gave all of us heart attack by moving the venue and disappearing. Lena almost attacked him. You turned my name into a verb. We were there."
"Speaking of married," said Scorpius "Or maybe getting married. How's the wedding planning?" Albus averted his gaze and Lena took a sip of mead.
"It's horrible," Lena replied frowning "There are just so many things that I want to get just right. Also, let me tell you, it is impossible to find a good calligrapher nowadays, and the flowers are just dreadful."
"Since when do you care about flowers and a calligrapher?" asked Albus.
"I want the invitations to look perfect," Lena defended "I'm going have only one wedding. I hope."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Albus joked.
"Nothing," Lena said, smiling at Albus.
"Well, if someone can break into Gringotts then you can find a good calligrapher," commented Rose, finished her glass in one gulp.
"Still not over that?" asked Lena, giving her friend a rueful smile.
"I had just left. I was literally right there! If I had been just a few minutes late or even a few seconds, it probably wouldn't have happened, or I could have stopped it," said Rose bitterly.
"No, she is not over that," Scorpius replied. The incident was all over the Daily Prophet. A couple of weeks ago someone had broken into Gringotts and stolen a hundred fifty-six thousand Galleons from some of the vaults. The heist happened between the small time frame during which there were no curse-breakers or goblins in the building.
"It happened during a change of shift," Rose replied "The morning shift ended and then for about seven minutes the whole building is empty before the night shift staff takes over. I don't know how it could have happened."
"Dad had the case shifted three times before he declared it a cold case," explained Albus "It's not your fault, Rose."
"I just wish there was something more that I could have done," complained Rose.
"Rose, darling, this wasn't your fault and you couldn't have done anything else," asked Scorpius "What does the head cruse-breaker have to say 'bout this?"
"I don't know," Rose admitted "No one can find him."
"That's because he's dead," said Albus. He proceed to tell his friends what his father had told him when he brought the body to St. Mungo's. He told them that Jacob Thornebury was found dead, hit with the killing curse and his throat slit open and how Gilderoy Lockhart had been found the same way along with an unknown man.
"Did he look like this?" Lena asked, pulling out a photo of her and another man with dirty blonde hair and pale green eyes, after hearing Albus's description of him. He was almost a foot taller than her. Albus took the picture and examined it carefully. Some of the features were different but he was sure that it was the same person.
"How do you know him?" Rose asked.
"I don't, I think is name is Barnaby Robinson," Lena said "I met him at the wand-makers convention in Ukraine. He was there to convince the whole lot not to make wands and that wizards and witches could do magic without them. He was pretty boastful about how he was the only wizard in all of England who could do magic without a wand or spells."
"Then what?" asked Albus.
"Well, all of us debated for a while," Lena continued "Then, he got a little too friendly with me. I hexed him with my wand and everyone was convinced that we need one."
"That's what happens when you mess with my girl," Albus said, kissing Lena on the cheek. Lena smiled and laced her fingers with Albus's.
"Killing curse and slitting the throat," Scorpius said, deep in thought "Why would someone need to slit someone's throat if they already used the killing curse?"
"Who knows," Albus said "Some psychopath I guess."
"Still it seems strange," Scorpius said.
"Well, whatever it is, I don't want you to get involved with this," said Lena "We've had out fair share of danger and I would like to have a normal life with my fiancé. In order to do that, I need him alive." Albus was pretty sure he had imagined it but Lena's voice sound a little strained on the word 'fiancé'. He decided to brush it off and focus on the conversation. Albus put his arm around Lena and she smiled, resting her head on his shoulders.
"Now look who's acting like a couple of teenagers," Scorpius retorted. They all laughed and Albus poured some more mead into his glass.
"Okay, back to wedding planning and talk," said Rose "Did you guys decide a date yet?"
"Ye-"
"No, not yet," said Lena, cutting Albus off. Albus just smiled without saying anything.
"Well, you better decide soon," said Scorpius "It gets harder to get a venue the more you delay it."
"Didn't you get your venue on the day of your wedding?" Albus retorted.
"No, mate, I got when Rose decided on the date," Scorpius replied.
"Well, it's getting late," Lena said, looking at her watch which read eleven thirty "We should get going."
A/N: So my hand is doing better so I was able to type this chapter out. I wanted to include more Scorose content but I couldn't manage to fit it in so I'll try to include more of it in the other chapters. Also, I'm a busy person but I am bored out of my mind for most of the day so I won't have a regular upload schedule like I did for Cursed-Child re-write so I'll just upload whenever I want. As always, please check my spelling and grammar!!
