Never Change

Chapter 11

Jac's eyes darted over to where Emma was chilling in the armchair on the tablet than Jac treated her to after she told her about the baby, she had been very quiet all week and Jac was worried. Kian tried his best to reassure her that everything was ok but Jac herself wasn't convinced. They were lounging out on the sofa together and they knew they had their scan later and both of them took the day off so they could make sure Emma was ok because after all, she was so important in all this. Kian was stroking Jac's hair as she lied in between his legs, she eventually let the sleep overcome her and Emma laughed slightly as she approached them both. Playfully she poked Jac on the nose causing her to wake and bury her face in Kian's chest.

"I don't want to go"

"I thought you wanted to come with us?" Jac questions and Emma sighs slightly "I let you have the day off school"

"I don't want to anymore" she whispers and Jac nods slowly looking at Kian who shrugs

"That's fine baby, you don't have to come if you don't want to, I can see if you can spend the time with either Sacha or Fletch" she whispers and Emma nods going to sit back down on the armchair, Jac bites her lip and looks at Kian who smiles slightly "She's not happy about it"

"I think she is, she doesn't know how to express it though," Kian says and Jac sighs slightly "You do need to get up though we have to go soon"

"It's so much effort though" she complains and Kian raises his eyebrows at her, he runs his hand over her tummy and Jac places her hand on top of his, they both gasp

"Was that...?" he questions and she nods slowly with a small smile "Has it done that before-"

"First time I'm pretty sure" she confirms and Kian grins at her, she leans up and kisses him softly on the lips, she looks at Emma and sighs slightly "I'm not convinced she's ok with this"

"Jac, stop worrying, it's going to be difficult for her either way, it'll just take time for her to get used to it that's all and I guarantee as soon as the baby is born she'll love it"

"And you know my daughter that well?"

"Not as well as you but I've been around both of you for a while now and I get the gist of things" he smiles kissing her on the back of the head "You don't have anything to worry about but we do need to think about heading off soon"

"I'll go and get ready," she says quietly and Kian nods kissing her on the head, she gets up and stretches before yawning

"Maybe after you can come home and get some rest?" Kian suggests and Jac shrugs heading off into the bathroom, he looks at Emma who was watching videos on her tablet before deciding to get ready himself...

They all drove to the hospital whilst Jac begged Sacha to have Emma because she didn't want to come to the scan with them, luckily he agreed to take his break then so he could be with her allowing Jac's worries to go out of the window briefly. They were waiting in the waiting room and Jac was flicking through some baby magazine that she hated and she didn't stop herself from expressing to Kian how much she hated how it was all gushy and nauseating causing him to swipe the magazine off her as if she was a child and place it on the coffee table in the waiting room. She then started to annoy him and he wondered if this was some weird distraction technique she was going for as he hadn't seen her like this at all. As soon as her name was called out he knew it was going to be the longest appointment of his life with the mood Jac was in and he was armed with a handful of apologies for the poor sonographer that was taking the appointment.

"Please take a seat-"

"I know what I'm doing" Jac rolls her eyes and Kian flashes an apologetic look to the sonographer
