Closer to heaven

Chapter two

Damon, Rain and Bonnie were walking down a familiar street one they had walked down hundreds of times. Damon huffed with his jacket over his shoulder "Ugh. How many more streets are we gonna wander?"

"How many times are you gonna ask me questions i don't have the answer to?" Bonnie asked snarkily , annoyed by Damon, but Damon just gave her a snarl while Rain let out a dramatic huff and they looked at her, she was about to say something but stopped as she looked at the cars around them

"there's something weird about these cars" Rain said looking at the old but new looking cars

"Yeah, they're almost all 20 years old or more, and yet they look brand-new" Damon informed; confused as well he then looked around more and started to walk a bit further noticing something "and that is Elena's not so burnt house" he said as he pick up a news paper which had a lassie band around it

he opened it up and looked at it for a moment before looking back at the two girls holding the paper up "look" he said and they got a bit closer

"Rare solar eclipse expected to be seen across 12 states" Rain read out and Damon rolled his eyes

"the date" he said frustrated

"May 10th, 1994" Bonnie said with a confused and panicked face "is that-? are we-?" Bonnie said stuttering

"That's impossible!" Rain said with wide eye's and her mouth hanging open "we time travelled?" she asked in complete disbelief

But before Bonnie or Damon could say anything a darkness illuminated over them, the Eclipse.

"i don't think we should be asking where we are" Damon said "i think we should be asking when we are"

"Elena?" Caroline said walking into their dorm, Elena was spread out on her bed drowning in sorrow about Damon and Bonnie

"yeah?" she said glumly

"have you seen Rain?" Care asked and that rose an interest in Elena

"no actually, we were supposed to meet up but she didn't ring me back and that was about what? a week ago?" Elena said and worry started to fill her up

"same i haven't heard from her since-" Caroline stopped on what she was going to say "well, since Damon and Bonnie died" she said softly

"me too" Elena said "try calling her" Elena said and Caroline nodded pulling out her phone and after about 16 seconds they heard her voice mail

"where is she?"

"i wonder if there's any booze in this empty retroville" Damon said bored as he swung on Elena's front swing

"hmm, i need a drink" Rain said thinking about the stressful day and night she has had

"it feels so weird to be back here. I practically grew up on this porch" Bonnie said in amazement looking at it and Rain nodded agreeing with her

"all right, talk us through it" Damon said to Bonnie hinting at how they all got here

"Before the Other Side collapsed my grams said that she made a sacrifice so i could find peace" Bonnie explained and Damon looked bored while Rain held a puzzled face

"the part where you actually have a theory" Damon sassed wanting to get back home to Elena

"Well, this clearly isn't peace. Otherwise, i wouldn't be stuck her with you" Bonnie sassed back

"rude" Damon snarled

"what about me?" Rain said looking between the two of them

"I'm happy your here" "thank god your here" both Bonnie and Damon said at the same time and a giggle left from Rain's lips
