She wasn't looking where she was going, so she tripped on a pebble and scraped her knee. Venti stopped running and turned around.
"Your tiny legs don't seem to be doing you any good!" He joked. A tear started to fall down Lumine's face, and she started to cry like a kid.
"Why are you crying, does it hurt that bad?" Lumine ran over to him, grabbing his leg. "Eh? I thought you said you didn't act like a child?"
Venti giggled. "Shush! Just let me get on your back!" Venti crouched down.
"Okay okay, just remember to use your manners' '' Venti jokes. "Please." Lumine said a while sounding little annoyed.
"Ok climb up!" Lumine climbed up and got on his back. Venti walked down the steps outside of the cathedral. He gazed into the night sky.
"You're not getting tired are ya?" Venti asked Lumine.
"Of course not! I just woke up a few minutes ago!" Venti smiled. "Just the answer I'd expect from you!" Venti said as he entered the Knights of Favonious HQ.
Lumine could hear chattering in Jean's office. Venti entered the room.
"Greetings, Venti. Fancy seeing you here!" Said Jean, a bit confused.
Lisa looked at the bard. "Who's this little boy?" She asked. "I'll explain later, but now-" She stopped and looked at the "child" on his back.
"Yeah, we have quite the situation on our hands, heh!". After a while of explaining, Jean stretched and spoke.
"So, how long is she going to be stuck like this?" Lumine shrugged.
"Sucrose said it shouldn't be for much longer." Lisa closed her book and put it back on the shelf to her left.
"So, if it's alchemy that got you into this, it might just get you out!" She explained. "You cuties should go talk to Sucrose and Albeto tomorrow." Jean yawned.
"Speaking of tomorrow, me and Lisa are going to get some rest. Report back to us once you asked them, okay?" She said as she walked them out the door. "O-Kay!" Paimon said, standing like a knight. Lumine hopped off of Venti's back.
"Now what?" Paimon asked. "Well, where's your house?"
"Both Lumine and Paimon paused and looked at each other. Lumine put her hand at the back of her head. "Ehh...with all this adventuring and sibling finding, we didn't think about a house! We move around a lot so it wouldn't do us that much good anyway ...heh..."
Venti sighed. "Welp, then you're coming with me to Windrise!" Venti grabbed Lumine's hand. "Windrise?" Paimon asked.
"It's kinda like my house..." Venti explained. "Isn't it like a tree?" Venti smiled.
"C'mon, tree house, tree, same thing. It wouldn't hurt you to use some imagination, now would it?" Paimon nodded.
"Well, it's not like it's our first time either!" She confirmed.
"Right, then! Anyway, let me on your back now because I'm tired!" Venti crouched down while Lumine hopped on his back.
"To Windrise!" Paimon shouted. The group set off to Windrise for the night.
Paimon huffed, as she was tired from floating. "I thought you flew from Mondstat, how are you tired?" Venti asked.
"Floating takes energy!" Paimon exclaimed. "You're the anemo god so I'm sure you would understand!" Paimon crossed her arms.
Venti saw that Lumine had fallen asleep. He set her on the ground and took off his cape. He put it around Lumine's shoulders acting as a blanket.
Venti hopped on one of the tree's branches and shut his eyes. "Hey! Why are we on the ground and you get a branch?" Venti laughed.
"I wouldn't want you falling out and hurting yourself" Paimon stared at Venti, a little angry. "Hey, Paimon takes up no space and sleeps gracefully! Are you saying that Paimon is a monster when she sleeps?!"
Venti turned around. "Maybe". Venti woke up, it was really early in the morning. He shut his eyes trying to go back to sleep, suddenly hearing Lumine cry. His eyes fluttered open and he was worried that she had hurt herself. He hopped out of the tree to make sure she was okay.
It turns out she was just cold. Venti let out a sigh. "So much work to keep a child happy. I wonder how families manage this?"
He crouched down next to Lumine, trying to think. "What do people do when a baby is crying? Oh! Heh, that was obvious!"
He picked up Lumine and held her. He wished that it was morning already so he didn't need to sit up the whole night. Before he knew it, he fell back asleep.
The next day, when Lumine woke up she felt a presence next to her. she turned around slowly, and to her surprise Venti was asleep next to her! "V- venti?" Lumine felt herself blush. *yawn* "good morning Lumine!" He noticed how close they were and how Lumine's face was red."A- Ah! Sorry Lumine!! Yesterday night you were really cold even with my cape on you and you were crying like a baby" Venti snickered.
"So, I held you to sleep. Sorry Lumine!" Venti got up and sat down beside her. "Its ok! Also, there is no way in the heavens I would cry like a baby!" Lumine thought everything else was believable but this.
"Hehe if I wasn't worried to death that you hurt yourself, I would have laughed" Venti jokes.
"Worried to death? Was I crying that loud?" Lumine felt a strange feeling inside knowing how much Venti cared for her safety.
Paimon tugged on Lumine's sleeve. "What are you waiting for? Paimon hasn't eaten in forever! We need to get going!" "Ah! I totally forgot, lets go!"
