April 29, 2023, 9:01pm, Gyeongsan, South Korea.
Several hours after the complete fall of Kordaine's facility.
On the barren field of Kordaine's now fallen facility, a cryostine gate buried in the snow quivers, and it opens, summoning a bluish frost portal.
A dark-blue haired Koul'in lady clad in a silken robe with armored platings steps out of the icy portal. She looks around the place and soon spots Kordaine, buried deep in ice.
She walks ever so slowly towards him, seemingly feeling the cold air, her feet sinking lightly onto the snowy ground at every step. The more she inched closer, the more detailed the fallen subordinate was.
She presses her hand on the cold exterior of the encased Kordaine, her eyes filled with a mix of contentment and sadness.
"So you bit the dust without me. Yet you fulfilled the duty..." She muttered. "To the end... you upheld your promise..."
She lets go of the encased body of Kordaine, then proceeds to scan the whole field.
There were traces of salt, as well as charred remains of both steel, wood, and concrete amongst the remains of the equipments around her.
"These wielders are really pushing us all..." She muttered. "To think they've already slain several subordinates and a member of the Ten Generals...sickening. I hope General Platina's project be finished soon. If her invention succeeds, this will be the vindication we've all been waiting for..."
She then proceeds to walk away, towards the tunnel tube of the area. On the corridor lies the fallen bodies of the Koul'ins, with their armor crushed and weapons broken.
The Koul'in notices that there were tracks that seemingly looked like it was dragging something heavy. She follows it, passing through areas where the siege didn't cover---a small laboratory, a stockroom filled with cleaning equipment, and a corridor on the right leading another larger room with a signal amplifier tower on it.
The Koul'in lady examines the footprints on the ground. She then reaches for it using her purely mehanical hand, and uttered the word "track".
Her hand does a whirring sound, and soon, the footprint slightly glows. It then releases an aura trail that leads to the outside.
She follows the tracks amidst the bodies of her fellow kin and the remains of the walls in the facility. It leads her to the outside, and sees that the aura trail directly leads to somewhere not that far away from the facility.
The Koul'in squints her eyes and clenches her fist. Soon, she presses a button on her earpiece.
"Prepare the prototypes."
April 30, 2023, 8:04 am, Kordaine's Facility, Gyeongsan, South Korea.
Present time.
Jihyo, Vanta, Cat, Hyungwon, and Hangyeol, after much preparation, arrive back at the facility a mere thirty minutes after they left their camping spot. They chose not to use the truck and instead go on foot, so that they wouldn't make the mistake of calling off any potential Koul'ins that may still be nearby.
Vanta draws his icy spear as he enters the torn down gate of the facility first and scouts the area around it, checking if there are any Koul'ins nearby. When he finally made sure that there were no enemies around, he gestures the team to move forward.
The team soon gets inside the facility quietly and cautiously. They immediately proceed to where the signal amplifier is located---just on the west wing of the facility, blocked by a gate that was now hinged open due to the siege yesterday.
