Chapter 12: UGW Entrance

I looked up at the gate in front of us. Kahit na gawa sa iron bars ang gate, hindi ko pa rin makita ang totoong nasa-loob nito. That's because of the maze that blocks the view.

Compared to the other two gardens, this place is not well-groomed. Mayroon ding scanner na natatabunan ng mga dahon sa gilid nitong gate.

This garden is located at the furthermost part of the school. Malayo na ito sa mga school buildings kaya maliban sa mga estudyanteng nagtatrabaho sa Underground World, bibihira ang mga estudyanteng nagagawi sa parteng ito.

"Finally!"

Excited na lumapit si Flinn sa gate at tinulak 'yon upang bumukas but as expected, the gate did not budge.

This guy is a real idiot for him not to notice the card swiper on the gate.

"Stupid, that won't open no matter how hard you push and pull it."

"Paano tayo makakapasok n'yan?... 'Wag mong sabihing sarado sila ngayong araw."

Nagrereklamong bumalik siya habang nakasimangot.

"Hindi nagsasara ang UGW. Hindi sila tindahan." I rolled my eyes at him. "Where's the card that the Dean gave you?"

"Anong card?" tanong niya naman pabalik.

"The UGW Card, what else?" I replied in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Ano 'yon?"

Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay, signaling that I am not in the mood for jokes. Nang marealize kong hindi siya nagbibiro, agad na napakunot ang noo ko. I stared at him with a dumbfounded expression.

The card that I'm asking him for is the one that is used to open the gate. It's like a key that the members use in order to enter the Underground World.

"Did she really ask me to escort you or you just made that up?"

"Oi, hindi ako sinungaling. Totoong sinabi niya na samahan mo 'ko papunta dito. Totoo din itong envelope oh," aniya at ipinakita sa'kin ang envelope na kanina niya pang hawak.

Inilabas niya din ang mga papel doon. Mabilis lang 'yon at ibibalik niya din ulit sa loob. But I caught a glimpse of its contents. It's a list of the items going to be auctioned.

"She said that? Then you can give me the envelope now. Sabi niya lang samahan kita at nagawa ko na 'yon. Nasamahan na kita papunta dito."

"Oi, that's not what we talked about! Ang sabi ni Mommy, ikaw na daw ang bahala sa'kin papunta doon at saka hindi pa tayo nakakapasok!" he retorted while glaring daggers at me. Hindi niya na rin napigilan ang sariling tawaging 'mommy' ang dean.

I sighed. Maybe the Dean asked me to escort him there, thinking that I have my card with me. I was not patient when it comes to things like these. Wala akong interes na pumunta sa UGW sa ngayon dahil wala naman akong kailangan doon.

I'm not even that desperate to get that envelope. At paano kami pupunta doon kung pareho kaming walang UGW Card?

"Forget about the envelope. Hindi ko na 'yan kailangan," I replied as I turn my back against him.

"What? Paano na lang ako!?" he exclaimed with a hint of frustration in his voice.

Nagsimula na akong maglakad pabalik, ignoring his complaints. Maybe I'll go home early today and drop by the mall to buy Shiriyo some clothes.

"Pupunta pa naman si A03 ngayon. Oi! Bumalik ka dito!"

I subconsciously halted when I heard him say that name. Walang ibang A03 sa Underground World kundi ang taong kilala ko.
