Standing in front of me is Wille, and Esther behind him has also stood up. They both look at me, but it is she who responds first by shaking her head in distress, "not here" she formulates with her lips.

I ignore her. That's all I need, the two of them conspiring behind my back.

I look back at Wille, he has closed his eyes and by the time he opens them he utters my name in surrender.

- Simon, you have nothing to worry about," he says. I go over what he hasn't told me yet, but nothing comes to me.

- That's exactly what you told me in the morning, and look at us Wille," I reply in annoyance, "I can see your attitude must have really bothered me.

He doesn't answer me, just remains tight-lipped. The bell rings and everyone starts to walk away towards the classrooms.

- Uhm, see you guys later.... -says Esther tapping Wille's shoulder.

- No, please stay. Whatever you have to tell me, you'll do it now," I reply. Besides, I want you to come with us because it will prevent a fight between Wille and me.

- Love... we'd better get to class, if we're seen loitering outside the classrooms we'll be sanctioned," Wille adds. I take a deep breath. I'm angry that I don't have a better answer to that because it's true.

- Fine," I fold my arms, "but as soon as we finish school we'll talk about it.

- Sure," Wille replies with a gentle smile.

The three of us walk to our classroom on the other side of the dorm in awkward silence.

- I already want to meet the new people," Wille's voice resurfaces.

- Yes," she replies, "I'll introduce you to everyone.

Esther is in our class this year because the sophomores and juniors only use one room, unlike the freshman class, which is divided into two parallel rooms.

- You'll like them," I say without looking up from the path flooded with fallen leaves, trying to lighten the mood and be nice to him because it's his first day. We reach the arch of twisted tree branches and walk through it, we are already on the lake side and start to climb the hill.

- I hope so, I'm not very good at socializing," he replies and after a few minutes adds, "To be honest... this year it will take August.

I stop and Esther stops and we look at him, raising our eyebrows. He smirks.

- Yes, I mean Hillerska will no longer have that leadership spirit," he adds sarcastically, and with a fist in the air continues, "that guy who inspired vision, passion, commitment? -he ends dramatically.

- Yes, his turtlenecks and elbow patches were most inspiring," I joke, Esther and Wille laugh as we resume our march.

The three of us burst into loud laughter. Poor August.
Wille smiles at me, but just as quickly stops and looks away.

When we arrive at the building, the professor has not yet arrived (thank heaven) but instead we are surprised to find Malin in the corridor, in front of the classroom door.

- Your Highness, I've been expecting you," she greets Wille.

He looks at her in surprise, and gives her a forced smile.
